Louis Arceneaux, C.M.I am inspired by the life of Blessed Franz. During Lent, I fast from all alcoholic drinks. I also travel and preach parish missions and lead retreats during the Lenten season, urging people to promote all the gospel values of Jesus Christ. Thanks for your efforts. Peace always, Louie
Nigel BaldwinThe witness of Franz Jägerstätter unto his own death in August 1943 was in the context of a World War, just before the dawn of the nuclear age. With the proliferation of the weapons of mass destruction since then, I'm haunted more and more by the words of the Reproaches for Good Friday: "...I have given you a wonderful World to live in with everything you need, but you have made the means to destroy it..." We can't afford NOT to heed Franz's witness, if we want to survive. I went to St Radegund on pilgrimage with members of Pax Christi in 2003, and I've had the honour of meeting with Frau Franziska Jägerstätter twice. Her loyalty to her husband and her own faith and witness is an example to all - a LADY in the truest sense of the word. I write as a practising Anglican, by the way.

Michael J. McCarthyBe with us Franz. Lets recruit peacemakers across the land, serving God and country best by renouncing lethal force. An army of many to replace the 'army of one". Making true service available to our young people. Ending the cycle of unjust war upon unjust war. They need not learn to kill before they're taught a skill.

Peter J. YuslumBl. Franz Jagerstatter has been more than an inspiration to me. I hold him up as an example of the Love and Courage that I might be strong enough to follow with an equally decisive "No" to empire and nationalism in the U.S. and elsewhere should I be called to witness Gospel non-violence in the face of injustice and oppression of others.

Janie M. SteinThe Church, the Body of Christ, is called to be a prophetic voice and witness to the life and teachings of Christ. We must not be silent in the face of war and the evils surrounding our society in this day. Now, more than ever, this action is essential to avoid the idolatry of militarization and corporate empire and the blasphemy of using the name of God for corporate schemes.
