| 1902 | Lila O. Bethmann | If guns are on the Canadian side of the boarder on Indigenous property our family will be trapped like animals. Life is hard enough for those on the island, but yet they stay because it is their Nation, “a land where the partridge drums and Native people are free to live with their own democracy.” Respect the Mohawk Nation, and people of that Nation. Remove Customs from the Island, and put it respectfully off the island. This should have been done many, many moons ago! Do the right thing, and respect their human rights. I always thought Canada was better, more humane but it would seem they want to be like the USA who suffers greatly from our last administration. No one in their right mind would want to leave the legacy that George Bush left behind, but it seems your new government wants to follow the example of a bad administration and put human rights aside. We will continue to pray for the Mohawk Nation and freedom for their land and people. |
