The petition

This petition is to IMMEDIATELY move U.S. troops from the front-lines in Iraq to a support & training role so we can reduce casualties while we decide an exit strategy and/or further efforts.

The Republicans and Democrats have been debating whether or not we should be in Iraq and when & how we should being our troops home. What is clear is the steadily increasing cost of the war in dollars & lives, the negative impact on the American economy, and the decline of our standing in the international community.

Republicans argue the surge is working. And bringing the troops home would signal weakness and surrender.

Democrats argue this is a war of choice, misguided, and ill planned with ever growing costs in dollars and lives while our economy and domestic situation worsens.

I see a MIDDLE GROUND. What can't our troops be in a support & training role? Why can't we "sit in the benches" while Iraqi government selected & REGISTERED troops follow-up U.S. instructions on patrolling and engaging the combatants? We're already paying insurgents to stop fighting.

Support the "Get Them Off The Front-lines" Initiative!!!
