I am a US doctor who worked for 2 years in Juarez, Mexico at a government hospital. I am saddened that an issue I am about to comment on has not been discussed in the media. No one has brought up health status and illegal immigration. As a physician, I am concerned about what illegal immigrants are transporting into this country. In the time that I worked on the Mexican border I saw rampant cases of Tuberculosis and HIV, along with leprosy, hepatitis B and C, and many other health care issues that would plague the population of the United States.
In the process of becoming a citizen of this country legally, isn’t there a policy by which applicants are screened for these diseases????
With concerns about terrorism ( which includes BIOterrorism) shouldn’t we be fearful of this particular issue?
