Joe Lessard | CA | In my humble opinion, the crash of United 93 was the first sign that America can and will defeat the evil that murders in the name of Islam. It's unacceptable that the memorial for this victory should validate the evil it defeated.
Cherie Jaynes | California | This is a disgrace and absolute betrayal of our country! How can you even consider such abomination! Shame on you.
Brad Brooks | Maryland, USA | For the love of God, don't even hint at anything Islamic in the design.
| 205 | Michael Bragg | Virginia | America's only successful counter-terrorism action that day was performed by unarmed American civilians who gave their lives so that others* may live.
* Like you, and me, and our families, and friends. |
Joan Castro | WA/USA |
Anonymous | USA | As a proud American I can only pray that this atrocity will not be erected!!! What a disgrace to our country and a slap in the face of the survivors of those who lost their lives fighting for the injustices of Islam!!!
James Chase | USA | This design must be changed to honor the heroes of Flight 93, and not the terrorists. I strongly agree with the statement above.
Robert Keefe | South Carolina | I agree that this cresent design should be stopped and another one begun that doesn't have any reference to Islam.
| 210 | KEN & DOT MESKO | PA | The design is a total disgrace to the heros who fought the terrorists on Flt 93 and should be redone to be a true memorial to them and this United States of America. We can't allow a few artsy people to insult what we stand for and reward the cowards that tried to inflict damage on this great country. Please redo this memorial for God's sake and the people of the United States. God Bless America.

Denise Burket | PA | I can't believe they would even consider using a design that has one item of coincidence lone on 8 coincidences. Why should our tax dollars go to honor the terriorists that attacked the people of the United States? The Flight 93 passengers were heroes; why dishonor them by honoring the people that killed them? Common people, THINK !

Lea Bragg | | Do not betray the heroes of Flight 93 by tainting this memorial with symbols of their murderers.
Joel King | Michigan, USA | What the HELL are you people thinking, letting this design go forward???
Greg Hunter | MA |
Judy Beam | | Only the U.S. congress could believe that it is acceptable to spend our tax dollars to honor terrorists.
Max Kuenkel | United States | Apparently, the majority of the Families of Flight 93 were duped. How that could happen should be investigated, of course: but this is a national memorial: the opinions of the Families of Flight 93 cannot and should not be the ultimate authority on this matter (because this memorial belongs to the whole country and to the future, and it is, to put it bluntly, bigger than them). Nobody has yet refuted any of the Islamic symbolism of Murdoch's design using clear thinking and good-faith (non-fraudulent) investigative reasoning. Because it is irrefutable that the red crescent points to Mecca. It is irrefutable that the crash site is located exactly between the crescent tips, where the star on an Islamic flag would be. The important thing is not whether the Islamic symbolism of the design was intended by the architect, but whether it is possible to successfully memorialize our heroes when the architect's design is full of Islamic references (the terrorists were deeply religious Islamic supremacists who (in their understanding) acted specifically in the name of Islam and in the furtherance of Islam).
justin hagan | nevada | this is not right. we should not memorialize the terrorists but immortalize those brave people who took that plane to the ground instead of the capitol.
Richard Lightstone | USA |
James Wood | TN | Stop this disgrace from going forward!
Maurice Chevalier | | Truly abhorrent. Doens't western PA have congresspersons that will take the lead on this.
Anonymous | California | NO WAY can we allow these terrorists the ability to dance on the graves of those who lost their lives in the 911 attacks.

A. Whaton | USA | It's time to stop this damn political correctness. Get rid of the crescent/sickle.

Anonymous | u.s.a. | Please stop the crescent design entirely and a new design created that represents a United States of America. Thank you
bruce garrick | oklahoma | lye kills trees and is easy to obtain, carry, and apply to tree roots.

Dona Renkenberger | USA |
Mrs. L A Egge | Washington | Idiocy to honor, or even to appear to honor, the perpetrators of this crime in any way, shape or manner. NO to any suggestion of a crescent. I'd much rather see a cross. NO to including the terrorists in the blocks. If you must, then make their monuments black spots on the ground that people can stomp on.
Marco Lopez | CA |
Douglas Cootey | Utah | Pushing forward on this project is insensitive to the people who are uncomfortable with the project design as it stands presently, especially families of the victims. There are enough similarities with Islamic symbolism to call for a redesign. To ignore their concerns is profoundly rude. Please take action immediately.
