| 157 | Susan Joy Lyons | Yes, yet again mental health services are to be the Cinderella of the NHS, while no doubt more funding relatively goes to the 3 Cs. If somebody goes to their GP with depression and is at a 1 in 10 risk of committing suicide, what happens? They may be prescribed anti-depressants, but they take weeks to work; and do not get to the root of the problems. Patients have to wait weeks or more likely, months for help such as counselling, CBT, etc! What help is available for mothers suffering postnatal depression? Is there a mother and baby care unit in the area? |

| 173 | Anonymous | My child was repeatedly failed by our local CAMHS and later required very expensive long term in-patient treatment funded by the PCT. To cut the preventative services will mean there are increased costs (financial and in the lives of patients and families) later on. |
| 174 | Dr Verity Leeson | This is a short sighted attempt to save money and can only result in a poor outcome for everyone concerned. |

| 181 | Niamh Murtagh | The impact of mental illness is felt not only by the person, but also by their friends and family and the wider community. Cutting services does not make sense. |
| 182 | Christine Dewhurst | The effects of the cuts will not be apparent in the short term but will affect the long term support and treatment of mental health clients. |

| 191 | Stephen Biggs | I am the principal psychologist at Cheshunt CMHT. The proposed closing of all Primary Care psychology services for this area will have a highly deleterious impact on service users. The primary care psychology services currently field 50 referrals per month. In addition to this I already have a long waiting list for secondary care psychology services. |

| 196 | Saqlain shah | I am very concerned for those clients which may not meet the criteria for admission, will now not recieve the level of care they deserve. Basically who'se to decide who is unwell enough to recieve hospitalisation.
and who takes the blame when things go wrong.
the other major issue is that it will put great strains on the caring health proffessionals in the community when they have a crisis at hand, but have no were to send there client because the beds are already fully booked or they can't decide if their client fits the criteria.
the final issue i want raise is what kind of message is this sending to the new upcoming mental health students like me. To me it sounds like there some sort lower importance of the mentally ill individual. |

| 198 | Anonymous | short term financial fix. Only increase individal, family & community problems in the future. Everyone could be a user of these services that are at risk? |
| 199 | Anonymous | I'm shocked by the cut in mental health services because although I have suffered for severe depression for 6 months, I haven't even progressed beyond the waiting list yet. Closing units and cutting money from the budget for mental health services makes people with mental health problems feel as if they are second rate to people who have more commonly accepted problems. |
