Dear President Bush, Senators and Congressional Representatives:
In recent months, there have been major cuts to Medicare Reimbursement, resulting in higher medical costs to patients for sustained care and damaging the potential quality of the care given to those that so drastically need the resources of Skilled Nursing Facilities. The cuts effect all aspects of patient care and drive up the cost to ALL patients as well as putting the residents and/or patients at risk that are in these facilities. Not only are these cuts morally wrong, they put the Nations health in grave danger. Making such drastic cuts undermines the Nations healthcare of our elderly and our long-term care patients as well as undermining our Nations fiscal security and our responsibility as it relates to medical care of our fellow citizens.
We ask that you reconsider these current cuts and vote to restore Medicare funding to Skilled Nursing Facilities. |
