The city finally approved the rooftop deck for the Purdy Avenue project. It is about time they stopped letting baseless noise complaints stand in the way of a great local business. We won this fight despite the bureaucratic red tape and the stall tactics from the opposition.

Chefs Jeff McInnis & Janine Booth are opening a seafood concept on Purdy Ave. in the old Joe Allen’s location, 1787 Purdy Ave, Miami Beach. They are excited about the spot and would like to build out the rooftop into an amazing dining space where you will enjoy the sunset view over the Miami Harbor 365 days a year. In order to build this rooftop deck, which is critical to the success of this project, we need your help with City Hall. The city and some locals have noise related concerns with building a restaurant with an outdoor deck in Sunset Harbor. This new concept does not include loud music that would be easily heard by any of the surrounding neighbors. Jeff and Janine simply want to be able to have background music suitable for a high quality dining establishment. They have even hired an engineer to do an acoustical study, and he has confirmed that there will be no negative noise impact on neighboring properties and noise levels in the area will not increase.

As many of you may know, Jeff and Janine have owned and operated plenty of well-established and fun restaurants in Miami and NYC, including Gigi’s, Yardbird, and Root & Bone. What they ask is that you sign this online petition and if possible, send an e-mail to Mr. Thomas Mooney at the City of Miami Beach government [email protected] explaining how you believe this new concept will enhance the Sunset Harbor area and will not increase noise levels from simple ambient music on the rooftop deck. Feel free to add as many positive words as you like and please get as many local Miamians to help.

Thank you in advance for your help and we are looking forward to feeding you soon!

The city bureaucrats are finally starting to notice the pressure we are putting on them to let Jeff and Janine build their deck. This momentum proves that Sunset Harbor residents want vibrant spots, not the stagnation that City Hall keeps trying to force on us.

I own a condo and live in Sunset Harbour and I think this would be a nice addition to our neighborhood.

I pass this building regularly on my way as I work in the area and wonder when will they do something with this building. This seems like a welcomed addition to the great restaurants and environment that is growing in the area. And we know these two will be successful so why not cut the red tape and give them the support they need.

As a local Realtor, I welcome anything that positively enhances the neighborhood, ESPECIALLY Jeff's new restaurant and a much improved Sunset Harbour! This building is NOWHERE NEAR any residences. Build it!

As a fellow chef and local business owner, I believe this new concept will enhance the Sunset Harbor area and will not increase noise levels from simple ambient music on the rooftop deck. Jeff and Janine are well respected operators, chefs and local minded Miami beach patrons and residents. Good Luck guys !

This project would be such a good fit for the neighborhood that is already home to fine establishments like Purdy Lounge, B&B, Pub Belly. Please let them go ahead with the project as Jeff and his partner are well known resraraunters already and have given us such amazing establishments here in Miami Beach

I think this is a great idea. And it seems to me that the building is so far away from nearby residential projects that there wouldn't be any negative impact.

I don't think residents are opposed to this at all. I'm a resident and I love the idea of a rooftop in my neighborhood! Yes to the rooftop.
