We, the undersigned, believe that the plans by Wal-Mart to build a store at the site of the former Red Lion Hotel on Hayden Island will have a major impact on the local residents, traffic and businesses. Interstate 5 is beyond capacity and Hayden Island can not support the traffic generated by another Big Box.
We urge the members of the City Council to work to find a more suitable location for Wal-Mart and any other "Big Box Stores", and to look at alternative forms of development that develop community and create quality jobs. |
