| 2 | Andrea | Cavalier | Didn't John Lennon say they never played better than they did in Hamburg...? Didn't they already have a great base of fans? This is such an important part of HAMBURG's history, it MUST be represented truthfully and that would be to include Mr. Best... he WAS the one to put the BEAT into their Hamburg days & beyond... the sculpture will last longer than our generation, it's up to us to make it right for future generations... if not... why?...

Dean | Michaelis | Absolutely!!! Best was the Best!!
Stephen | MacDonald | Pete is my hero.
Marie | Aucello | Pete Best was part of the Beatles formative yeaers and should be included in any commenmorative sculpture. Pete Best was part of the Hamburg years.
Mike | Tutt | Pete Best should be in the sculpture!!!!!
Debbie | Stifter | Of course, Ringo is a vital part of Beatle history, but the part in Hamburg should have Pete Best, who also was very vital, especially to the early days, that got the Beatles to where they were. Pete deserves to be part of that statue, Ringo was not part of those early struggling days and to have Stu, who fittingly was included and not Pete would be a horrible mistake. Give Pete his due, he earned it. We all love Ringo, but if you know the full story, you love Pete too.
MARS | LORDGE | FIRST OF ALL HAMBURG GOT TO KNOW THE BEATLES WITH PETE BEST IN THE GROUP. IT IS TERRIBLY WRONG NOT TO INCLUDE HIM. THE CHRONICAL ORDER OF THE ORIGINAL BEATLES WERE JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, STU, PETE BEING THE 5TH BEATLE THEN RINGO. PLEASE INCLUDE PETE.
Andy | Sandler |
Lindsay | MacDonald | I am shocked... how could he NOT be included??? He was the BEST of the Beatles!
ed | jackson | It's about TRUTH. Simple. Lennon sang it too: "..gimme some truth..all I want is some truth...". If you're doing this tribute..you have plenty of time now to do it right..and be TRUTHFUL. Don't willingly misrepresent the history.

Judith | Groff |
| 14 | Luna | Collins | Overlooking Mr. Best in this tribute to the Beatles Hamburg days is just not acceptable; before the generations that come after us take the famous line-up for granted...essentially rewriting history...we need to ensure this undertaking is completed with truth and accuracy!

| 15 | daniel | farrell | thank you hamburg, for this wonderful initiative, let's make sure that we do it right :-)
happy new year |
Jane | Galland | Pete Best was an important member of the Beatles in the Hamburg years. To omit him in the commemoration is an injustice.
Robert | Cesare | Fact; Without Pete Best, there would have been no Beatles. Honor the truth.
tony | flynn | Do the right thing.
Shaun | Weiss | Not to have Pete Best makes this Beatle tribute a JOKE.
Antonia | Cavalier |
virginia | aravena |
Barbara | Liebowitz | he deserves it
Elaine | Manley |
Dave | Ravenscroft | PETE BEST was asked to join THE BEATLES in August 1960 so that they could go to Hamburg. Without him, they would not have got the gig. To leave him out of this tribute would be re-writing history.
Mark | Van Hine | Pete Best was the drummer in Hamburg and he should be the drummer in the statue...not Ringo. Quit screwing Pete!
| 26 | Jim | Cushman | Pete deserves to be a part of your plan! He was a Beatles from August 1960 thru August 1962..The statue should include John.
..Paul...George...Stu...
..and Pete! Those are the original 5 Beatles! |
Rhian | Watts |
Julie | FitzSimons | This would be a wonderful thing to commemorate the Beatles and there time in Hamburg. I think it should include Ringo. Maybe all 6 Beatles John, Paul, George, Ringo, Pete and Stu.
marc | pittard |
Suzie | Donald | It is right that Stu Sutcliffe be included, however, Pete should also be there, along with Ringo - have them all!
David | Lavallee | John Lennon called the Hamburg days a time of The Beatles best music. Pete Best was the drummer when all their hard work, sweat and blood and many hours were put into making The Beatles sound what it is today. Pete Best is and will always be an original Beatle and a part of The Beatles history.
| 32 | EDDIE | DEEZEN | please include pete best.
he was the beatles drummer for 2 years in hamburg and he deserves it. |
Barry | King |
Penny | Lane | PLEASE put ALL Beatles in the sculpture. Pete Best deserves some recognition as well as the rest!
Roger | Stormo | Pete Best belongs in the Hamburg Beatles Square.
Jackie | Martin |
Elin | Linnerud | Pete Best
Linda | Burdecki | I agree in pete's place in Beatle history, but the needed chemical reaction came with Ringo.
Brian | Lacharite | To create a statue without Pete Best is to give a false sense of Beatles history.
Dan | McDonald | As if you wouldn't include the Pete Best band...pretty sad, hope you rectify the situation.
George | Pass | All we are saying is, give pete a chance!
anthony | glover | when the beatles were paying their dues in hamburg it was pete best who was right there with them night after night.he deserves this honor
Gabor | Peterdi | Give Pete what he deserves! He was the drummer, there and then and without his powerful beat the Beatles would not have became the sensation of the Reeperbahn. We want Pete!
Stephen | Petrica | Ringo was drumming with the Beatles when they conquered the world, but he was a johnny-come-lately during their Hamburg years. The band that ruled on the Reeperbahn had its rhythms laid down by Pete Best, and that fact ought to be recognized in the Hamburg monument!
jørgen | Wiig |
| 46 | Marius H. | Johannessen | Without Pete, the sculpture is incomplete, and that's VERY sad! I'd love to go to Hamburg to see the Beatles statue, but why without Pete? If Hamburg is proud of being the second home of the Beatles, why not make something that remind us of the fantastic Hamburg days!! Pete have to be included together with John, Paul, George, Stu and Ringo! Why this rewriting of the Beatles history?????

Don | Burkhardt |
ROBERT | PETRO | Pete Best more than Ringo Starr & Stuart Sutcliffe should be honored. It was his sweat and hard work that helped jump start Beatlemania. Lets get history right
Jackie | Healy | You cannot possibly celebrate The Beatles in Hamburg without including Pete Best in the statue. He was the beat of The Beatles in Hamburg! Please don't forget him and change the history of The Beatles yet again!
Paul | Nyman | Pete Best played Hamburg many times with John, Paul & George. It is well documented in photographs by friends they made in Hamburg: Astrid Kircherr, Klaus Voorman & Jürgen Vollmer. To change history by declaring Pete Best was not part of The Beatles is sad and selfish. Please don't rewrite history!
