6 Robert H. StiverPearl City, HawaiiI myself am not Jewish, but the opportunity to sign this petition was given to me via a principled Jewish person who proudly supports artistic freedom of expression. So do I. Thank you for affording me the right to participate in this campaign.
7 Wendy KaufmynBerkeley, CA USAAs a Jew and as part of the San Francisco community (engineering instructor at CCSF) I implore you not to succumb to pressure from the JCRC to censor the H.O.M.E.Y. mural. Please realize that the JCRC does NOT represent all Jews. Thank you.

17 Bernice DavidsonSummertown, TNI am a jewish woman and I see nothing wrong with this mural. All people need to have a voice and to express their feeling through art. This is one way that folks in conflict can come to some understanding.

22 Karen ShainBerkeley, CAI lived in San Francisco for many many years and still work there. I think it is really important to support youth who are working for positive change, and this mural is clearly part of that! Please support these kids in their work to break down walls between all of us.

27 Linda KahnSan Francisco, CA USAThe Jewish Community does not have one spokesperson, nor do we all feel the same. I would be most offended should the Arts Commission censor the young HOMEY muralists. We cannot teach our youth to bow under pressure from special interests. They must be allowed to express themselves without censorship. Please defend these youngsters, and teach them about freedom of expression, encourage their artistic talents, and give them a voice. Leave their design alone, and allow them to continue their mural in its entirety. thank you.

39 Deborah GreenBerkeley, CAWhereas I appreciated the sentiments of the Rabbi's thoughtful letter to the Art Commission, I agree with the artists that the mural is important and relevant. Breaking down barriers is not an attack against Judaism. As a Jewish American artist, I will defend everyone's First Amendment rights to free speech and our responsibility to understanding, analyzing and confronting injustice in this world, and holding the vision that positive change begins with the democratic ideal of dialogue.

41 Henry NorrSan Francisco, CAThe JCRC does NOT represent most Bay Area Jews! Please don't bow to their efforts to censor this beautiful mural. If they have a different point of view, fine, let them make their own mural. But they have no business trying to suppress other people's points of view.
