| 341 | Mrs B Newland | I believe that Kate and Gerry McCann although full of regret, have never admitted that leaving their 3 tots unattended in the evenings while on holiday was wrong. Despite fantastic amounts of media opportunities they have never used those to tell their audience that what they did was wrong, they would never do it again and tell other parents not to take these terrible risks, rather they continue to declare that they had good reasons to leave their 3 tots alone in an unfamiliar place, presumably they are likely to do it again and anyway all parents do it if they are honest. No they don't. This is sending out the wrong message to those parents who may continue to think that yes it is Ok, the McCanns were just unlucky. When we went on holiday we took it in turns to sit with them on alternate nights while the other joined friends for the evening or we took them with us. It is not OK to leave young children on their own as a lot can happen even in (alledgedly) half an hour. Although the disappearance of Madelaine is the actual outcome of their risk taking, those children could have vomited and choked, woken in distress from nightmares or injured themselves stumbling around in an unfamiliar place. They should be tried for child neglect. |

They are both equally guilty and should admit their wrongdoing instead of continuing the media circus set up at their own hand.
Had they displayed the same intensity of care in their children them none of this would be necessary.The latest news of writing a book is very sad.Most of us have seen and heard enough.
It is clear that the alleged "abductor" had watched their routine otherwise he or she would not have been able to do it so lets have some common sense prevail and stop the farcical events that have been out of control for a while now.
The cost of the search can easily be contributed to by the money donated to them.Clearly the Portugese police are to a man working on an investigating that, with all due respect ,is a result of the actions of the parents.They realised this from day one and no doubt it is never far from their minds |
