You must make this country viable in to the rest of the world and the workers should have their say on issues affecting them. I believe in having two casinos in Niagara Falls as being vital to the continued economic prosperity of the city.
Prosperity will only be guaranteed if the jobs at the casino and in the surrounding tourism industry are good jobs. Goods jobs are jobs where workers workers earn a living wage that allows them to support their families in dignity, are respected and receive the training they require to work safely and pursue career advancement opportunities and are ensured of benefits, including secure pensions and MOST IMPORTANTLY, where they are free to join and be active in unions where their collective bargaining rights are respected. So as to advance the interests of everyone in Niagara Falls , workers must be included in discussions surrounding the future of the Casinos. Workers must be given the opportunity to select representatives who will be at the table alongside the hotel owners and other interested parties.
It is absolutely disappointing that everyone has a right to work in this country EXCEPT for people who are members of a Union who have every right in the world to be concerned with their areas of employment. |

Unionized workers make good wages and benefits which make for a prosperous community.
Put presure on the politicians locally, provincially and nationally together. UNITED WE STAND! |

| 185 | Anonymous | Anonymous | Workers at the 2 casino’s have been muzzled for over a decade. Anyone heard even mentioning the word union will be persecuted, so how could they have a say in anything. The supreme court of Canada recently ruled that labour rights are human rights but these local employers could care less, they are blinded by their greed. Those who need the union the most ( the contract workers) are threatened with job loss by management if they join a union. |
