| 1063 | Tsar Chasm | I hope the centers of excellance aren't too excellant or else they will be overloaded with New York residents escaping their hopelessly inadequate health system. |

| 1070 | Carmela Barbieri | I feel very strongly that the decision to close the maternity department in Niagara Falls should be stopped. This is no way to run an efficient city. How is a women with no vehicle going to get to St Catharine to deliver her baby. They have so many other things on their mind and now have to add transportation to the list of parenting. Sure they can call an ambulance but that is also an added expense. Please rethink this decision it is not a wise one, leaving many parents wondering should we have children or not. I'm sure Dr. Jack Kitts was able to get to a hospital close to home to deliver his own children, therefore the same should be allowed for the citizens of Niagara Falls, and Welland. |

| 1072 | Lisa Stranges | I think this proposal hasn't been thought out properly. There are so many questions to be answered. Did anyone ever think that we will no longer have people "born" in their home town, or the fact that women will no families have to travel so far to deliver that babies, or a pregnant women on vacation in Niagara falls has to travel to St.Cath in case of an emergency, or what if a niagara resident has complications, she needs to travel even further than her home just to make sure her child is ok. Or our doctor's, they need to travel as well, Or what about the Families of these babies that want to visit, they need to all drive to St.Cath, will you pay for their gas? I hear that this proposel is for the niagara region, so that means if 3 women from wellend, 2 from niagara maybe 4 in St.Cath all happen to need the facility at the same time, Do they all need to take a number and WAIT in the waiting room. Do you REALLY think this plan you have thought up makes any sense? Can you really say that this will benifit ANY of us? I think NOT!!! |

How about remodeling the hole Hospital and Getting new staff.
I think the Niagara General has gone down the tubes.
I would never have a child there as i had my son at St CAtharines.
I plane never to die in that hospital ever since I seen how they treated my grandfather. |

| 1089 | Cidalia Pereira | Lets rethink this issue.....lets renovate instead. Jobs are excellent for the region as well has a maternity ward. |
| 1090 | Kristi Perrett | Keep the Maternity Ward open. Families all need the saftey of knowing they can have babies in a healthy, safe environment close to home. St. Catharines is not close to home. |
| 1091 | Anonymous | I am a resident of Fort Erie, and when my child was born a few years ago I had little comfort in the fact that GNGH was 25 minutes away but felt good that my OBGYN was located in the building attached to GNGH. If my husband and I plan to have another child I am deeply concerned about the drive from Fort Erie to St. Catharines being approx 40 minutes on a good day without hitting traffic lights on the way to location of the new hospital. I pray that no construction is happening on the QEW that will increase the transit time even more ! |
