Yvonne Diodati | Thank you to everyone for supporting something that is going to greatly affect the future of our children and their children......
Barb Macdonald | I can't believe this is even being put forward as an option. Do you have any idea the pride that the people that live and were born in Niagara Falls are to see that on our Birth Certificate. I for one am proud to have Niagara Falls, ON . Canada shown as my place of birth. This transition would just lump everyone into the Niagara Region. Each city is a different entity and shoud remain that way!

Tragically HIP | Time for the LHIN to grant us all a HIP replacement.
Jan Bielenberg |
Michael Morgenroth | Niagara Falls is a growing community that has an established General Hospital. Curtailing essential services from it and making the primary health care facility in town less than what it is and should be would seem foolish.

Alejandro Gidi, Ph.D.,P.Eng. | In a vast country like Canada, the last thing we should do is discourage people to have families. We need more population or we run the risk to loose part of this territory and its resources to other more active countries.

Nancy Mayer |
christina Stein | i think it is ridiculous to close down the maternity ward, we need one in the city and it would be hard for some people to make it to st catharines and back i think it is stupid and we should have one
Leigh Anne Culliford | Arethe people that run the hospitals all men, or just totally insane?? No woman is going to want to spend 20 minutes OR MORE trying to get to a hospital when she's in labour! God forbid there be traffic, or worse yet, construction! All cities should have certain wards, and maternity ranks right up there!
Angel Vlasic |
charlene telega | This is an outrage! I was born there. And what about people who have no choice to go out of town to have a kid. Or what if it's an emergency labour? Are they gonna pay for cab fares to get there ?!
Ryan Ellerker |
Jane Kett | I feel that it is unsafe to make mothers drive a farther distance to give birth to their children. This move is greatly unnecessary.
Lynn Trottier | I think this is a bad idea. We need this in the falls.
carl franco |
Kylea Trottier | Please keep ward open!

Anonymous | If men were giving birth we wouldn't be having any closure.
Chery Rivers | Do not close our GNGH maternity ward!
| 1033 | Anonymous | Why would you want to get rid of the Maternity Ward.
Kinda stupid eh?? You would think that they would make it bigger and better!!! |
Helen Pandur | Don't the women in Niagara falls count anymore ? Spending money on fixing roads that lead to the casino must be more important.
Darlene Knox |
Louie Louie | I'm a little surprised to see so many comments suggesting this is the doing of some unspecified 'men'. The 3 top NHS asstards are women. This is their plan.

Wendy Ellis | WE live in a city with a world renound address and have 80,000 plus and growing (taxes included) BUT YOU CAN NOT HAVE YOUR BABY(S) HERE! I am sure the midwives, will be busy! I hope taxi drivers take a course on births in cabs, coming in from Welland or Fort Erie. I am so honoured to have NIAGARA FALLS as place of birth on my childrens birthcertificates, their kids may not be so lucky!! Will taxi drivers be asked to update their baby delivering skills? especially the women/families coming from Welland or Fort Erie in need of at the time non-emergency transportation? Consultants are continuously being HIRED to tell us what we already know. Maybe if the health system trimed some "top fat" from the payroll the average joe can keep their jobs in the hospital (the coffee stop, because a corporation waswilling to pay more) nad there may be some money left over to help fund some of the systems shortfalls. Could we put he st. Catherines ,oops i mean our new regional hospital any farther away?? How about it be CENTRAL for everyone!! I realize SOME departments can and should be combined but er's and maternity i believe should not be included. How is my family doctor going to check my in hospital progess and get to their regular in town offices in a timely manner? ST. Catherines feels they are entitled to all the services, police headquarters squabble included. Maybe our Regional Hospital could be moved closer to Vineland or Jordan incase some Hamilton or Burlington families would like to feel privelaged to be included in the CENTRAL LOCATION, The NEW LOCATION IS TERRIBLE and i feel that is a big part of why people are horrified with this whole plan! DON'T WORRY THE GOVERNMENT SAID WE WILL NOT "LOOSE" SERVICES 2 YEARS AGO!! IF YOU DON"T BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT WHO CAN YOU BELIEVE!!!!!
