In most if not all cases homosexuals are treated like 3rd class citizens, from owning a home together, to having a child, to marriage benefits, and even medical care.

1210	Hope	Arnold	AR	US	i think that it is wrong for a country or even a state to tell people that they cannot parent a child based solely on their sexual orientation. if it is in the best interest of the child and the person applying for a child to parent is fully capable and acceptable then why should the fact that they like a member of the same sex be an issue. that child will still be in a loving home even though the adopting parents are gay!

I see a problem with this. Children should be able to choose whether they go to homos or not. Their life is at risk.

1235	Dawn	Jones	TN	US	We have good friends who have adopted three "troubled" teenage boys through foster care. Their family is a loving warm place where everyone feels loved, worthy, and safe. Who could ask for more? In TN 35% of the kids in state custody aren't even placed in foster care homes much less being adopted. It is rediculous to think that only married heterosexual couples can provide a home better than state custody or a string of foster placements. We have neighbors who are gay and have adopted who have already decided they will move out of TN if this passes. What a shame and a loss for people who need love the most.

My only concern with this issue, is ethical. Discrimination against individuals based upon their sexual orientation is wrong, and reminiscent of some sad days of ignorance and hate in our country. Lets go ahead and just end this. This is an issue which is a matter of religious morality. Well, if you are gonna do it, then at least do it right. Leviticus states that homosexuality is a crime which should be punished by stoning to death. So, is the bible right? Or just the parts that seem convenient, and popular. The only cure for the true cause of all this hate, is banning religious people from being adoptive parents, therefore putting an end to the cycle of teaching hate. SPOILER: gays are better parents than most middle class suburbanite bible junkies.
