| 1 | Sean Der | Please release the iPod it will do no harm to Apple and will greatly help this projects |
| 2 | Conor | You know this wont work, right? |
| 3 | Alex | I back this 100% percent. I feel as if Apple should have taken a different route then completely ending the once, ever-expanding iPod programming and development projects. All we ask for a is a boot loader with selectable options, Apple, nothing more. |

| 9 | Domenic (nedthehead) | We have an SDK for the iPhone, why not let users develop their own applications and install other OS's on the iPod? |

| 23 | Anonymous | As the general population becomes more tech-savvy they are going to join with the current tech-savvy individuals in their desire for control over the products that they purchase. The possibility of booting the Ipod to a different operating system should be the right of the Ipod-owner. |

| 30 | Keripo | This is only a request for access to the bootloader and possibly also Diagnostic Mode for RE for hardware access. The iPodLinux project has no interest in modification nor decryption of the official firmware. |
| 31 | jgjake2 | ok...i want this, but let’s face it, APPLE WONT DO IT! They would LOSE money if they did it.
“how would they possibly lose money?” one might ask.
It is simple. If you could get FREE open source games/apps on your iPod, why buy apple’s games/apps? That alone would stop apple from allowing access.
AND this would also allow users to decrypt applications (because if apple did do this, they would have to show their encryption method); which could lead to users hacking apple games (again). And more…
So although I want this, it wouldn’t be in apple’s best interest to do so; so they wont. |
