It is very very upsetting to find that this so-called caring city is withholding free swimming and thus contributing to the poor health prospects for pensioners , when those in many other regions are benefitting . If this is a government initiative it should not be possible for any council to choose not to comply. This is absolutely deplorable. A scheme which will no doubt reduce health costs for senior citizens must surely be of social benefit. Surely if surrounding South Yorkshire areas are implementing the government initiative Sheffield can not defend its denial of our rights. |

The Victorians had it right - hence the world class public baths they built in every town across the land. |
