Your Excellency, Mr. Minister of Interior,
We, the undersigned citizens, local and international organization, would like to express our concern due to the continued detainment of the unionist Ms. Rose Limbo in the detainment center of the Lebanese General Security for more than a week without being allowed to assign and meet with a lawyer.
Ms. Rose was arrested in her employer’s house and the General Security has been denying organizations and lawyers to communicate with her and refused to disclose the accusations made against her. Moreover, it has been refusing to allow the concerned organizations to assign a lawyer for her. For many years we have worked with Rose in socially supporting the Nepalese community in Lebanon. We attest to Rose’s good conduct and her respect for Lebanon and its laws as well as to her love to its people and land.
Based on the above, we come forward to you, in your capacity as the custodial authority on the General Directorate of the General Security, to issue the necessary instructions to halt the deportation of Ms. Rose Limbo, and to allow her to meet and appoint a lawyer. Rose is lawfully residing and working in Lebanon, and the aforementioned measure would preserve her basic rights guaranteed in the Lebanese Constitution and the International Conventions ratified by Lebanon, notably the International Covenant on Political and Civil Rights.

نحن الموقعين أدناه من مواطنين وجمعيات أهلية ومحلية واقليمية وعالمية، نبدي قلقنا بسبب استمرار احتجاز النقابية السيدة روز ليمبو في نظارة الامن العام اللبناني لمدة تجاوزت الاسبوع دون ان يسمح لها بمقابلة محام.
ان توقيف السيدة روز تم في مكان عملها، ولم يسمح للجمعيات الاهلية والمنظمات والمحامين التواصل معها او معرفة التهمة الموجهة بحقها ويرفض الامن العام ان يسمح لها بتوكيل محام. إننا قد عملنا مع السيدة روز، ونشهد لها نضالها وحسن سلوكها وحبها واحترامها للبنان شعبا وارضا، والتزامها المطلق بحقوق الانسان وحقوق العاملات في المنازل والدفاع عن حقها في الحماية من الاستغلال الذي تتعرض له من خلال نظام الكفالة.
وعليه، نتقدم من جانبكم، بصفتكم سلطة الوصاية على المديرية العامة للامن العام، بإصدار التعليمات اللازمة لوقف ترحيل السيدة روز .... والسماح لها بمقابلة وتوكيل محامي حفاظا على حقوقها الاساسية المكفولة في الدستور اللبناني والمواثيق الدولية.

Migrant workers are free to form Syndicates in Lebanon. Do not deport them for choosing freedom over oppression. Stop "Kafala" system.

These workers r human and they should be treated as so,. This worker needs a lawyer and that's the minimum in human rights,stop the kafala

She is innocent and a friend of victimized domestic workers, she should be freed soon without any charge

This is not only for her it is for all MDWs so we have to stand together for the greater good.
