Ivy is officially allowed to return to campus and the halls will finally feel like home again. I am so grateful to everyone who spoke up for her because this win belongs to all of you. We will keep an eye on things to ensure she stays welcomed for the …
Ivy is a certified therapy dog owned by faculty of Peck hall. For the past 2 years, Ivy has brought joy and comfort to those who attend the University of Rhode Island.Recently, the university has decided to ban Ivy from visiting and coming back to campus. Ivy is a certified therapy dog and helps reduce stress for over 10,000 students on campus, as well as those who visit campus frequently. This petition is aimed to show higher up faculty and President Dave Dooley that a large amount of students enjoy Ivy's presence. With the joined support of the student body, we can bring our University dog back!
Seeing one hundred people sign this in such a short time really proves how much Ivy means to all of us. I still struggle to walk past her favorite spots on campus without her there. Your kindness is giving me a real sense of hope that we can get her back where she belongs.

Seeing the count climb toward five hundred reminders me how much Ivy means to the students who need her comfort in Peck Hall. Please send the link to your classmates right now so we have the strongest possible case when I walk into the administration office.

What an awful thing for URI to do! When I was a student, there were many dogs on campus. The one who I can really remember was named Heathcliff and he was a fraternity mascot. Dogs never were a problem at URI. Bring Ivy back. I will even send her a care package once she's back.

My son has a therapy dog and I know how beneficial it is to him. I was once a college student who occasionally needed a shoulder or a paw to lean on. This dog is performing a valuable service to the students. Bring her back to school.

Just because she isn't a Ram doesn't mean that she isn't an important part of our University. Although she may not fit what your specified mold of what you think should be therapy should consist of doesn't mean she doesn't help others all around her.

I strongly believe that animals should be permitted on the URI campus, especially animals like Ivy. They provide a lot of emotional support which is a very key role in success in college. If this petition gets put down, I will be even more extremely disappointed in this university.

Therapy dogs are allowed in hospitals, rehab centers, care centers, schools, and so many other places. They help students with disabilities, home sickness and remind them of gentleness and familial ideals. Taking away Ivy was a terrible decision, now it's on you to remedy it.

Ivy always make my day a better and helped me feel at home in my college dorm. She is a truly kind and lovable dog in which everyone loved. Without her presence, Peck Hall is not complete. Please allow her back in our dorm.
