396	Carolyn Martin, MD	I would encourage Fred to rethink his position on withdrawing from the Republican presidential race. It would seem that as he already has votes in Florida from early voters and is on the ballot in the February 5 primaries that he would garner delegates. As the primary process fragments the field of candidates, it seems very likely that votes that he split with Mitt Romney and Huckabee might well come back into the fold and even Ron Paul followers who realize that Ron Paul has only a limited lifespan in this campaign can be counted on to realize that Fred represents the closest mainstream candidate to their beliefs. In this fragmented campaign, even garnering 10-20% of the vote in any primary will ensure that Fred has sufficient delegates to use them in a brokered convention.

400	C. Martin	I would like to urge Fred Thompson to reconsider his withdrawal. There are so many of us who feel that with his withdrawal there is no true conservative alternative for us. We feel that as the campaign rolls on, Romney and Huckabee will be exposed as not being truly conservative and that McCain and Giuliani are already exposed and seeing their following peel off. I for one will still vote for Fred if his name is on the February 5 ballot in Missouri! I would welcome a grass roots Draft Fred movement.
