| 58 | Andrew Sapp | It took my participation in the Iraq war and my subsequent struggles with PTSD to bring me to the same conclusions as Blessed Franz. Would that I would have had the strength that he had to have resisted that war and, ultimately, all wars! No other person should ever be asked to serve in an unjust conflict, which all modern popes have argued is inherent in the nature of modern warfare. The church now must choose to stand on the side of Our Lord and struggle against the militarism that infects our country, or to be condemned by its silence and the resulting complicity with the cult of death. Standing firm for peace is not popular today, but it is our duties as Catholics and Christians to embrace it. Please, for the sanctity of the Church, let us be a light for peace. Please, as our bishops, lead us in denouncing the death merchants and back to Prince of Peace. |

| 76 | mary | There are very many educated Catholics living today from several generations. We know wars never brought about solutions which brought a people to greater maturity. Come on. We need this eye for an eye or get them before they get me childish attitude to cease. Negotiate. Love enemies,
See others as equal human beings. Justice more than charity. Peace MKS |
