What I want to suggest is that benefits and medical care stop being cut back and cut out because of budgets. These men and women who have served and still serve give all to their country. Taking away benefits and limiting them is such a disservice to these patriots. They give up so much including their health to preserve this great nation and our thanks is to say we can not afford to care for you. Although it may not be apparent at the time of discharge, injuries that occured during duty can have lasting affects on these men and women. Cutting back on what they deserve is irresponsible. We pay them less to fight and die for this country than someone working at a fast food place. Yet government officials who do not fight and die get far better pay and benefits. Is this fair? What is it saying about how we value these brave men and women? Give them pay raises they so deserve and need, give back all the benefits that have been taken away and cut back. They deserve more respect and honor than they are given. Please lets give them what they deserve. |

I am a 39 year old military wife and mother of 4 children. I am trained as a LPN and I am currently in college full time in a crimial justice program at Macon State College. I have family and friends that have served in the military and even given the ultimate gift, their life. I feel very strong about seeing these men and women honored properly. |
