David VasilevskiSigned in retrospect to ADAM's environmental passions and efforts. He has spread a vast and contiuous knowledge and awareness of todays most toilsome environmental issues! Truly an inspiration, to environmental studies and it's diligence what Kepler was to astronomy/astrology! Save the whales!

Sean GudgeonOceans are an immeasurable resource to us and one we dont even fully understand. Bottom trawling is like clearcutting a tropical rainforest without even having looked at the forest, or contemplating the environmental hazards or long term eco-calamities. Why does this happen? Because it is an issue that people believe is over and done with, the oceans are f**ked, and there's nothing anyone can do, let the fisheries run themselves dry. There ARE other options, and it is important that people, governments, and international bodies (the UN, ect) realize this.

May Abu-ShabanThere are clearly several alternatives available that are much less detrimental to the environment! This method of fishing is not as common as the other methods as it is, so the small percentage of fishermen who use this method conforming to the the methods used by the majority can't be that difficult to achieve. Please make bottom trawling illegal!

Anne-Marie LudwigI never knew about this before but it is ridiculous! What an unecessary waste of resources and such an insufficient way of fishing which harms our environment and in turn us!

Christel WilkatBottom-trawling is one of the most destructive and cruedest forms of commerical fishing. It destroys everything in its path annihilating whole ecosystems. Our oceans are not indestructable and need our help. They are fragile and if we are not careful we are going to destroy this planet beyond the point of restoration.

Tom BrownIt's gotta stop. Listen to the scientists for a change. we are always way ahead of you and you know it.
Katharina BrownI've worked on scientific diving surveys to assess the effects of bottom trawlers - the damage is devastating and heartrenching to experience. Controls and protected areas are way overdue! If it is left much longer there will be nothing left to worry about or make a living from.
kirsty ballbottom trawling has lasted for so long because the general public are unaware of the real destruction that it does to our seas. This method of fishing needs to be stopped, not reduced, just stopped. human consumerism and greed is destroying all that is natural and beautiful with this world. its about time that we showed mother nature that we respect and love her. stop the killing.

Stephanie MilneAs marine biologist who has collected data for NMFS for five years on trawlers in Alaska, I have seen first hand how destructive this practice is to the habitat
Dawn AbbottThis is a terrible practice. There is such an array of wonderful life on the bottom of the ocean, some of which we haven't even discovered yet, and all of which plays a vital role in the ocean system as a whole! Let's stop bottom trawling, and we will be one step closer to a better world!

Derek JonesStop the babaric slaughter of Canda's oceans now!
Tamara WilsonBottom trawling must be stopped. Otherwise there will be nothing left of the most beautiful place on this earth!
