Daniel Goodwin | The team has shown no improvement from were they were last year, with the same players. Its time for a change. Don't waste another year as the program slides farther down the hill.

Rick Majerus |
Brent Kelly | I believe the coach had no idea of the true history and winning tradition this program has. I recently heard him say that he has not focused enough on recruituig like he should have. What an idiot!! We now have a BAD TV deal and a coach that by the time he's done will have us competing with Westminster College for recruits.
corey | this is the worst season for the utes period. That wont stand with me Giacoletti needs to go NOW. Hire Dick Hunsaker he was once the Utes Coach and led us to a pretty good season and look what hes doing with UVSC hire him before someone else does. He might be our only hope to turn this program around.
Anonymous | Ray Giacoletti gave up having a family to coach basketball. He should think about starting a family now. He can't be getting much satisfaction with his coaching ability at this time.
Frank Rizzo | It can't get any worse
STEPHEN PAPPAS | GET RID OF THIS LOSER! WE NEED A COACH THAT CAN COACH OUR BOYS TO BE WINNERS!! THE FAT MAN CAN COACH BETTER FROM A BUFFET LINE!!!

Anonymous | This isn't surprising. When you hired him the sports writers in Fargo (NDSU) were like what? I can't believe he got hired by Utah. He was terrible at NDSU.
Anonymous | Giacoletti has to go! His lack of coaching of the fundamentals is so apparent in each loss. Dribbling, passing, running a fast break, playing defense with your hands up, contesting shots, etc. are all missed in his coaching. With the talent the team has, they ought to be winning most, if not all, of their games. Fans won't tolerate it. They will show it with their lack of game attendance and that has begun already.
Keith Ramsey | I think the program has sunk low enough and the talent doesn't justify being last place in MWC.
Alex Markham | My name is Alex Markham, and my mother is highly respected by several people in the athletic department for her volunteer work she has done on some of the University athletics projects.. Although she will not get on here and sign this, you must know Dr. Hill, that Giac has none of my family's or several highly respected people through the U's, respect he must go now!! Also as a former student I must say, he has never connected with the students of the U!! HIT THE ROAD GIAC!!
Steve Skidmore |
| 115 | Anonymous | Please stop the bleading!!! Two years is enough!! It is time for a change!!!
PS In protest, I have stopped attending games |
Jonathan Hatch |
Tyler Pettit | We need to hire a big name coach that can recruit some players here that want to play the game. We need the days of Majerus back in SLC.
Roger Reid | It would be nice to get someone with local ties who has had some success at the high school(clearfield),jr.college(snow) and yes the school to the south(BYU). I officially throw my hat in the ring to lead the utes back to the glory days.
Joe Nicholls |
Anonymous | His coaching results are opposite of Utah’s basketball tradition.
Anonymous | I agree, Ray is a joke. I don't think that the guy knows the first thing about coaching. His teams don't defend, can't handle the press, and turn the ball over at alarming rates. Please FIRE HIM now.
Jerry Gurr | You're right...we don't know Giac! If we did, he never would have been hired!
Jerry Gurr | You're right...we don't know Giac! If we did, he never would have been hired!
John Neff | I think he is an ass. He's killing my beloved Utes and ripping my heart out with bad coaching. P.S.....can bring turkey.
David Anderson | nm
Steve Perrin |
Cory |
Kurt Johnson | How long must the Ute nation put up with this Giac in a box?
David Miller | I have been a season ticket holder in basketball for years and was hesitant this year, but unless Jokealetti is gone, I am afraid this may be my last.
Luke Nevill | I'm sick of losing, mate.
Jed Wunderli | I had lunch with Coach Giac and liked him and what he had to say. He got the players he wanted and they seem to be quite talented. This does seem to be like Archibald all over again who could get talent but didn't teach the fundamentals and couldn't coach strategy during the games. We need a coach and can get the success out of this talent. Giac said he planned on playing a pressure defense with an uptempo style when he got the players he wanted. He has the players he wanted and I don't see any of what he said. Time for a proven coach who can take us to the NCAA!! Thanks for taking action.

Anonymous | Fire him, we suck. I think you need to fire his ass. We don't like the productivity. Have you seen them play? Heavens.
| 134 | Jim Crestani | As a fully vested member of the Alumni Association I am appalled at the lack of respect our once proud basketball program has nationally.
Please do not blame it on the lack of talent. Quite frankly, we have more talent than most of the teams in the conference, including Air Force. The problem lays with the coaching of Ray Giacoletti.
I remember him promisiing use he would bring back the running Utes, with a more up-tempo style. I have seen nothing that he has brought, other than loss after loss.
Make the move now, before we lose any of these fine prospects. |
Anonymous | Ray Giacoletti has destroyed the Utah basketball program, and I am disgusted. My dad and his friend were so disgusted, they started a website, www.giacolettimustgo.com. Help them out, visit the site, the U administration is very aware of how many people visit the site, and the more that do, the more pressure they'll have to fire Giac.
Dave | What did we expect from an average Big Sky coach? It's time to start over.
Steve | This season has been way too painful. I've been thinking all along that we should give him until next year because of the youth on the team....until last night. We were flat out coached by the bloody cougars - it's embarrasing. How many streaks do we have to break and records of sucking do we have to set before they will send him packing. We are a young team but it doesn't do any of those players any good to loose every game.
Patrick Farrell | I think it is time to get rid of this coach. Losing to BYU is unacceptible!
Anonymous | I totally agree that Giacoletti should be canned. He has completely destroyed the legacy that all of his predacesors have made. He needs to gtet sacked and leave the state of Utah. If he wants to destroy a program, I'm sure that Eastern Washington wants him back.
Anonymous | This is bad. He is a fool. I have stopped going and watching Utah basketball.
Daniel Goodwin | Utah has lost way to many games to teams they are more talented than. It is time for a change. Don't waste another year giving him more time. Did Myer need time to turn Utah into a winner? Ray isn't geeting the job done. I will not spend another dime at the Huntsman Center until there is a coaching change
Spencer Bailey | I live out of state but still support the U and I am embarssed by the basketball program.
Anonymous | I don't care who is coaching this team next year, as long as it is not Giac! I wouldn't even mind seeing Chris Jones as our coach next year...hell, I wouldn't even mind Elaine Elliot coaching this team next year!
Jennifer Solomon | Giac has had a fair chance to prove himself and he has failed miserably. However, he has broken all kinds of records this year: BYU won in the Huntsman Center for the first time in 12 games; our Utes had the worst losing streak since 1950 and the worst start since 1972; and lastly, our home winning streak has been dismantled, just to name a few. He hasn't delivered on anything promised. It's not a matter of a lack of talent, or being young. It is bad coaching, bad teaching of fundamentals. The ridiculous amount of silly turnovers a game, the absolute inability to break a press, and the lack of defensive effort are just a few problems. The list goes on but the solution is simple.....Giac has got to go!!
| 145 | Anonymous | My blood boils every time I even think of the Basketball program. How could Dr. Hill make such a horrible mistake? Did he not check references? Did he even require Giacoletti to submit a resume? This guy has no more business coaching at the U than my five year old daughter -who by the way is taking flack from her KINDERGARTEN classmates over this fiasco.
If Giac isn't gone at the end of the year I'll start calling for Dr. Hill's head too. Sorry Chris, business is business and you screwed up! It's time to start correcting this CLM (career limiting move). |
Anonymous | FIRE Giacolleti.
Brad Ford | I will not be getting my basketball tickets next year if Coach Giacoletti is still coaching at Utah.
Blake Rodee |
Anonymous | Giacoletti has got to go, I have been going to games since I was a baby, and I find myself wanting the U to loose so maybe Dr Hill will get a clue, or even if he looks up in the empty seats should be the bigest clue. (when was the last time there were empty seats at the BYU game) But any way the last couple of games I have noticed that Giac is just sitting on the bench and his asst coaches are up doing the coaching whats up with that. Time for him to pack his bags.
