Sarcasm, wit and a good sense of humor and teasing is all fine and I do it all the time. But this guy is none of that. His tirades are childish and show no sense of any sort of mature, developed or intelligent thought, insight or humor. It is just nasty, hateful, adolescent type meaness. The kind you find in a fourth grade classroom or on the playground of an elementary school. He is a spoiled, borish, ill-tempered child in an old man's body. His mind has obviously been scarred by some childhood slight and he is taking it out on the world. Which wouldn't be so bad if his columns were funny or insightful or interesting. Any sort of intelligence or point to his writing would be welcome. This guy is an embarrassment to the LA Times. I would never buy that paper while he is employed there.
