Fight Against English Only Laws

English only laws have been adopted in at least 23 states. Each state's laws range in their restrictions, but they are unnecessary regardless. These laws are based on ideas that English is in danger of dying out in our country. Over 90% of U.S. citizens speak English in daily life, though. These laws are restrictive on those who are unable to learn English, because of disability or no access to bilingual schools. We need to fight against these laws because they are restrictive and unconstitutional.

I am a freshman college student who found out about these laws through my basic public speaking class, and feel very strongly about dismantling the close-minded views that these laws are based on.
