| 976 | Donelle | Apple | MO | US | My dad as a little softball girl told me that Willie McGee was the best center fielder ever. He was right. Although everytime as a kid when I went to the ballpark Willie was on his day off. I was only able to see him play on TV but I didn't mind. I have been a center fielder for about 14 years and no matter who comes into the game to me Willie is and will always be the best. He played in the short ball game which is where you can hit the ball in the infield and still make it to first. He never had to show boat any plays. To me he played in the time where they played for the love of the game not the money and he was a prime example of that. I have always said if I could ever meet anyone famous it would be Willie. |
