55 Cindy JansenI implore you NOT to give the dogs back. There is proven neglect and abuse going on with these dogs. Ms. Hughes should be arrested and fined, not get a pat on the back. The law is pretty cut and dry. These dogs were living in horrendous conditions, overcrowded cages, submissive dogs living with more dominant dogs, this is not even accepted in the USDA requirements. No animal should be forced to live like this. These dogs are Man's Best Friend, yet we turn our back on them in time of need.. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE DOGS BACK TO LIVE THEIR LAST DAYS IN HELL ON EARTH. Thank you for your time.

70 M. KramerThis issue is the WELFARE and FUTURE of these poor and abused animals. The vet used by Teresita Hughes is the person who reported this abuse to officials initially! Her kennel runs were overgrown with grass and obviously unused for a long time. The medical problems observed are proof ;positive of neglect. An arcane 1977 statute The judge's ruling was based upon was never before used. No approvals by County Commissioners are on record for other animal control officers who have made seizures in 31 yrs since its passage! PLEASE save these pups; grant custody of them (and reimbursement of all costs) to Suncoast Animal League; charge Teresita with all the costs incurred.

94 Sherri WilkersonPlease interpret the law in the "spirit" in which the law was written. No one, especially the animals, will benefit by these dogs being returned to Ms. Hughes. She has already proven that she is not a responsible caretaker and is inhumane to those under her care. It is incomprehenisble to me that a decision would be made to return these dogs to a life of suffering and torture based on a paperwork technicality.

The conditions were deplorable and I am astounded that anyone would return any of the dogs to her. Leave them in their loving homes and let them be loved by someone who cares what happens.
