Many people are getting banned over their chosen names. Some people are hiding their true identity from stalkers. Some are so used to being called by a name not their own, that using their real name is actually depressing.

The worst part is when Native Americans, and other non-American people, are forced to actually make fake names to appease this Facebook policy because they names are not traditional American-style names.

This needs to be stopped. I've had to use my real name for years. I miss my nickname which everyone called me. Now they call me by my real name, which they see everyday. I could not use my business information to prove that I am going by my alternate name in day-to-day life. Furthermore, a friend of mine is being harassed to use her real name, despite that she has a couple stalkers she is trying very hard to not reveal herself to. Not all name-proof verification applies, either.

Please sign this petition and stop forced name changes. Allow us to display our names as we want. Facebook can see in our information what our real names are, why does everyone else have to, as well?
