Cathryn MandokaThis is a crying shame! My niece is ready to complete her degree at this institution. Shame!

Clarice GervaisI don't understand why the Ontario Government doesn't recognize an institution that is solving a problem that could fall to government social service benefits programs instead. Let's give our First Nations people access to a culturally appropriate post-secondary education. It might save thousands of people from the vicious cycle of poverty and hopelessness that costs Ontario Works and ODSP millions of dollars.

Nikita Whitei think the federal goverment should fund FNTI. this is a very helpfull program for aboriginals across Canada. Hopefully the goverment will realise how helpful this program is for native everywhere, they have help so many. i would hate to see it have to close it's doors.

terryThis is a very important issue that I believe is contained in the Royal proclamation of 1763 and the colonial government has a duty to pursue so as to convince us
Jodie Skye-Diabo
Brad BoomhourThere is absolutely No doubt what so ever in my mind that if this School was anywhere other then on the Territory it would not be facing this Funding Crisis! This Country has a long history of Abusing the First Nation Peoples of this Land. Canada is always running to the Aid of other Countries and at same time Ignoring the Needs of Her own Peoples.

Tracy BushWhy isn't education as important to them (the gov't) as it is to us?
Sandra MartinPlease address the seriousness of this issue immediately! FNTI is well respected in the Colleges community. They are a leader in PLAR and Aboriginal education. They have been patient and proved their value for 23 years. It is past time you give them the respect and acknowlegement that other educators do. Shame on you for your failure to sustain this institution in the financial manner it has earned.
Dawn HillI am a student at Ohahase, and i really really love comming here. There is more one on one learning and everyone knows everyone. Comming here is soo funn! Here i get better marks than i did when i went to a main stream school.!
Meghan LessardI am a student at Ohohase. I have been here for 2 years now and this is the only school I have been able to fit in to. In high school it is a big thing to fit in to your school. If you don't fit in with your school or your peers, it could be difficult to go on with your life. I would just like to say that I love our school. Please find it in your heart to keep our school open. Thanks for your time. Meghan Lessard
Taylor BarkhouseThis is Taylor Barkhouse, I am a student at Ohahase I have been here for about two years now and this is the only highschool I have attended. I really like it here and this is why I feel you should keep the school up and running. For some student this is the last chance, they can't get into any other school's and Ohahase has taken them in and gave them all a chance. It was my choice to come here and I choose to come here because I heared this was a really great school and when I got here I agreed with everyone that told me about it and I think we all would be lost without Ohahase. So please find it in your heart and Keep our school open for us and all the kids that might end up here next year and maybe the year after that.
Glen BrouwerI can not believe that FNTI is in danger of closing! Prior learning recognition had its start in Canada here. This year will be the 19th PLA conference that FNTI has hosted. FNTI is the birthplace of ALFI ( Adult Learner Friendly institutions). ALFI will become a major force in adult learning. The people at FNTI are so willing to share their expertise. For me , FNTI is my Mecca. I make the trek at least once a year from Manitoba to learn from the people at this world class institution. How can government not fund this wonderful institution!
Ken LeesI truly feel that both the Federal and Provincial governments have to look at starting to treat the First Nations with equality and fairness. Education is only one of many programs that is severely underfunded and is one of the most important . This issue must be addressed. The First Nations have to stand up to these agencies and do whatever it takes to get treated as equals in our so-called Canadian society.
Shelley EssauncePlease see Aboriginal education as a priority for this government. The investment will be priceless. Thank you

NancyI think it is despicable that the government is trying to cut funding to this excellent educational instuition. I think it is no coincidence that this Institute in tyendinaga terriory is being targeted after the community of Tyendinaga is standing up for their rights demanding the government implement the Canadian Land Claims Process. is this how our governments deal with land claims, cutting funding to education?
AnonymousHere is how the government deals with protests. http://www.canada.com/reginaleaderpost/news/story.html?id=124e6e8d-b2a0-4141-aa54-8ac58fa1956f&k=95536 "Protests and blockades generate headlines but do not advance aboriginal relations. Working together to advance the interests of everyone involved delivers better results," said Ted Yeomans, a spokesman for Indian Affairs Minister Chuck Strahl. "Our government remains committed to the position last year where we would review any organization's funding if they were to contribute financially to the planning of a protest or blockade."

John M RickardI am a graduate from FNTI's aviation program. Thanks to FNTI and its wonderful staff, instructors and friends; I have been able to achieve my dream and now work in the aviation industry as a commercial pilot. Proving to the youth in my community that it can be done. FNTI's impact on native communities and dreams of young natives is worth much more than money. It would be a profound dissapointment and shame to see FNTI close its doors on the dreams of young natives because of this.

Marshato achieve my goals, i chose native run colleges, and was very successful in both studies, and my GPA was 3. and 4. point average. Our success as native learning from a native presective can only help empower us as native peoples. we can use the tools we learn to improve lives of our community's.
teresaindependancies.... of First Nations need to distribute own educational needs throught First Nations Responsibilities, accountabilities of knowledgeable of delivery mechensium needs to be in place to meet mainstream criteria as Aboriginal Education is a support system that enhances aboriginal recruit/retention and cultural awareness for western communities relvent to tradition culture sensitivity

Dave CarnahanIt would be a huge loss to so many people should FNTI close its doors. Please keep it open!

Douglas FarquharPlease think about the positive achievements of many young people who have completed an education at FNTI. Consider the lose if further young people are excluded from FNTI.
