1 Morgan WadeI support fair funding to FNTI - it is a worthy institution that should get similar consideration to other provincial colleges and universities.
2 Eric WaltonI cannot imagine a better investment by Ontario and Canada in addressing the long-term challenges facing First Nations than to build the internal capacity to find the solutions and implement them.

4 Jason HaneyIt would be a shame for the Ministry to lose this gem due to political misgivings. If the First Nations Technical Institute is indeed an accredited College, and open to off reserve Ontarian's, should it not have the same right to funding as those off reserve?
5 AnonymousClosing the doors of educational institution in this country is a non-starter, especially on a Native reserve where the need for post-secondary education is great. I recommend that you do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't happen.

9 Amber CroweGive FNTI the funding and accreditation conferring power it deserves!
10 Callie HillI have been involved with FNTI for the past 19 years as an employee and a student. It would be a great loss to the community if they have to close the doors. The government needs to do the right thing and provide the funding for this institute and at the same level as mainstream post secondary institutions are provided.
11 Kevin MaracleFrom the Belleville Intelligencer: http://www.intelligencer.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=868413&auth=Stephen+Petrick The province is also prepared to chip in about $1,600 per year per student, Thompson said, but that pales in comparison to the roughly $9,000 it spends on other students in order for schools to build up capital and equipment funds. 13 James HeffernanMr. McGuinty - please fund FNTI in the same manner as other colleges and universities in the province of Ontario. FNTI is a truly amazing institute with a tremendous potential to positively impact on the lives of so many people across the province. Don't let this potential go unrealized. Act now!

19 Gloria ThomasI cannot believe one of our esteemed institutions must close its doors because it does not fit fed/prov quidelines for post-sec delivery ... again! Indians are here. Indians are visible. Indians are not going away. Please, stop ignoring that we exist.

26 Roronhiakewen Dr. Dan LongboatI am appalled at the political ping-pong game between the province and the federal governments regarding Aboriginal Education in the province of Ontario. Step up to the plate and show real leadership in supporting Aboriginal Institutes in making a difference in Education for Aboriginal Peoples. Think of the continued costs to the tax payers of not addressing this critical need. Now is your chance to take a proactive role and do the right thing!

36 Robert DavisIt is scandalous that funding is arbitrarily limited when available at all.
37 Carol IsaacsThe future generation depend on higher education and despite two decades of struggles, FNTI is still fighting to stay alive. IT NEEDS FUNDING TO CONTINUE TO DO ITS WORK WITH OUR YOUTH!!! It deserves the right to succeed.

44 Fred DenisonFNTI has provided the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte with an invaluable educational experience which I doubt would have been available from any other source and therefore should be affiorded Government funding the same as any other governemnt funded schools.
