The petition

YOU WANT OUR VOTE? SUPPORT THE BUSINESSES THAT COUNT AND TRULY HELP OUR COMMUNITY.
We, the undersigned, are stunned by the fact that Everyday Business cannot advertise in the area. The fact that the owner's efforts are constantly being thwarted by the city, city employees, and other businesses such as Extra Supermarket is ridiculous and tells us that no one really cares about building up this area. The area is full of trash and abadoned buildings, but yet you have city employees harassing EB about minor things like banners and signs that HELP people take care of their personal and financial business. With no alternatives to advertise and grow Everyday Business, the business is in jeopardy of closing. We as customers of this business and voters in this district WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS. We demand that you give amnesty to Everyday Business to advertise with signs in the community, and/or actively consider helping this business stay in our neighborhood (instead of telling EB what they can't do). Either give them rental space in a safe, VISIBLE, and suitable location at the MLK mall, or offer a comparable location (such as the barely used city office next to KD's Sportswear on MLK Drive). Either you support us by supporting EB, or lose our votes. We the undersigned will only support candidates who truly support our community and minority/women entrepreneurs. Take action by August 2007, or take your campaign flyers and empty promises next election somewhere else.
