| 110 | Anonymous | As a participant of Toronto Fashion Week in the past, I agree we need a change. We have some of the most talented designers in the world with no support. It seems the FDCC is a social group that lets in who they choose to, rather than operating as a support system for the designers and encouraging them in the world market. There is no support in getting us editorials in our own home magazines, or into retailers such as Holts. I agree, Toronto Fashion Week has the potential to grow, but not with the same elitist group at the top who only promote within themselves and give nobody else a chance.
It is a shame that you can be in the same room with somebody multiple times, have conversations with them, give them your $10000 for a fashion show, and she cannot even say hi to you when she sees you outside of fashion week. This is my experience with Robin Kay. This is wrong. As head of a council such as this, she should be there to nurture and support, not snub. I have attended other fashion weeks in the world and have been treated better by people I do not even know than by her which seems very odd to me.
She does not represent the true Canadian spirit. |
