Petition to Support the Eternal Hills Memorial Park Expansion Plan

We urge the Oceanside Planning Commission and City Council to approve the Conditional Use Permit and Development Plan for the Eternal Hills Memorial Park Expansion

Established in 1948, Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory is a full service location, offering funeral, cemetery and cremation services. In order to continue properly serving the Oceanside Community in the future, an expansion of the site is needed. Eternal Hills have been working closely with their neighbors on issues of concern and will continue to listen to their thoughts on expansion plans.

The Eternal Hills Memorial Park Expansion Plan Will: Provide an additional 24 acres within the site for cemetery use. Currently, the cemetery occupies approximately 44 acres of the 130.53 acre site. Provide burial space to serve the community’s needs for over 20-30 years. Currently, the cemetery has less than a two year supply for burial and mausoleum space. Provide Oceanside residents the option for burial within the community. Without the expansion program, residents will have limited burial options 25 miles south in San Diego and as far north as Newport Beach. Provide an additional 64 acres as permanent native habitat. Significantly improve the habitat and water quality of Alta Loma Creek. A detention basin near Fire Mountain Drive will control storm water and a new sedimentation pond at the bottom of the slope will capture runoff water and sediment before it enters the Creek.
