Deborah ByrnesThere is a small Woolworths in King street, there is a large Woolworths at Marriickville Metro and a Coles in Surry Hills as well as an IGA at Waterloo and Roseberry. Surely people are not too lazy to go to one of these? We don't need more supermarkets so please leave Erskinville Village alone and pick on someone your own size!

Roisin KellyA large supermarket will kill the village atmosphere in Erko. This has been demonstrated in other suburbs (like Parramatta when Westfield opened) and country towns where a supermarket or super-centre has sucked the life out of the town centre. This is planning 101.

Kate DunlopErskineville is my home, I love it because it is so unique... please don't make it the same commercial playground as the rest of the world.

Jonathan ParishNo to Woolworths in Erskineville
AnonymousThere is no need for another supermarket in such a residential area. Small villages like Erskineville, Sydney and Mullumbimby, in rural Northern NSW, DO NOT need your supermarkets there. There are existing adequate local shops and farmers markets, which I will continue to support and urge others to do so. Our farmers and farming lifestyle are at risk because of your monopolising and overtly controlling tactics. We, the local community, have had enough. Please stop. You are not supported by the majority and "We will not shop THERE" at your stores - ANYWHERE!

Hamish LiPlease don't destroy our village. We simply don't need or want another supermarket. Please listen to the voices of we few residents when we ask for some common sense to be applied.
Barbara KorteErko is crowded enough. I don't want Woolies in Erko. There's not enough room. Traffic is already unpleasant.
Edwin HughesTraffic can already be overly congested on Erskineville Road. I LOVE the community feel of Erskineville. Lets keep it that way
Robert MetcalfeThere is definitely no need for another supermarket in this area, and the existing shops are fine the way they are.
AnonymousI cannot believe that Council would consider approving this development. It is obvious that the people who are meant to use this facility don't want it and who is council there to represent the best interests of if not the local residents. I love this village and know how hard it is to get a park there already, please don't approve this development and ruin this beautiful part of our city.
David HowarthThere is simply no need for another supermarket. Traffic in Erskineville is already horrendous enough. Lets keep Erko the wonderful little village that it is. No wonder everybody wan'ts to live here!!
Richard CoddI have seen the concrete monster that Woolworths built in the beautiful Queensland town of Maleny after residents lost a five year fight. Woolworths promised a 'boutique' supermarket in keeping with Maleny's village atmosphere. It proved yet another lie. Now Maleny is having the last laugh by not shopping there and supporting locally owned businesses. Woolworths CAN be beaten. Check mtevelynraw.com
AlexThe above is a farce and the erkanites are being quite selfish in their "quiet little village" take a close look at a number of food retailers and you will find they are dirty and dont meet minimum health requirements, these people are destroying what erko is about and are not willing to comprimise, its more to do with a vandetta against woolies, the imperial hotal or anything that may bring more people to erko, if thats what they want then wall them in and not let anyone out of erkoAlso I dont see the villagers putting thier hands in thier pockets to finance an alternative for the site.. Regards, soon to be former erko resident
Anne CarrPlease don't let them spoil our village with a Woolworths we don't need.
Nicky BarryWe need to keep Erskineville village as a village. We are well catered for with supermarkets and we don't need another.
Paul VonwillerWe do not want Erskineville Village destroyed, noise levels increased, congestion increased, and our way of life changed. With the Foodworks supermarket on the corner of Newman & King Streets expanding AND a Franklins on King Street, how many more do we need? We believe a mixed use development on the HIVE site that enhances the Village is entirely viable and possible for a developer and the village community alike. I like to think substailbly and how we can think positve ways to help loo after the environment. To help make this more an atmosphere by making this environmentally friendlly and to help respect the community to live in harmony. I look forward to your response. Yours Sincerely - faithfully Paul Vonwiller
