| 552 | Susan Craig | I oppose a Woolworths on Erskineville Road. It's not appropriate on that narrow stretch of road. The streets and houses are tiny. That's why Erskineville has a village atmosphere which should be protected. Apartments yes. Supermarket no! |
| 553 | EILEEN HAYSE | Erskineville, one of the true villages of The City of Sydney is unique . This development is unwanted and not needed with adequate supermarket shopping either in Newtown or Marrickville.. The traffic, especially with large trucks, will just add to the congestion already being experienced. We do not need any more cars/trucks in Erskineville. |

| 555 | Christen Cornell | I always thought some smart council spark had made Erkskineville difficult to drive around in order to protect its village feel. One way streets, road blocks - aren't they all there to make Erko a haven for residents, kids and pedestrians? The strategy has WORKED, so why ruin the design now?
People move here to avoid cars and shopping malls; I like walking to the shops and knowing the names of the people who own and run them, and I'm happy to pay slightly more to support small local business. Neighbourhoods like this are rare, and people are coming to appreciate them more and more. I don't understand why you'd jeopardise all that, especially at a time when Sydney City Council is getting conscious about how to make our city more livable.
This development would make the traffic down Erko Rd even worse (and it's already a problem) and so would mean more cars in the backstreets. It just seems impossible to me. I'd like to know what an impact study would say. |

| 558 | Natalie Stewart | Opposed to woolworths moving in, there are a lot of local businesses that would be affected. Also two IGA's in the vicinity and Woolworths at Marrickville is enoughh. |
| 559 | Anonymous | We have enough supermarkets in the area! How much more "convenience" do we need and at what cost to the locals and character of the village? |

| 561 | Ben Daggar | |
| 562 | Alastair Jacob | There are already way too many developments and cars in Erksinville. Please protect the identlity of the suburb before it is too late. |

| 565 | Liama McConachie | |
| 566 | Sean Ryan | I can't believe that such a horrendous plan, one that will bring so much disruption to the peace of erskineville, could be approved by Council! |

| 568 | Anonymous | I think it would be a total shame for the community or Erko to lose its character and charm... That is why people visit the area.. To a supermarket chain... We have ample conveniences already in the area...!! |
| 569 | Anonymous | The planned supermarket is a disgrace. There is no way that the huge Woolworths trucks can deliver what is needed for a supermarket without considerable disturbance to a quiet residential area. We don't want this development on Erskineville Road and persisting with this will damage the reputation of Woolworths for all residents in the area. Please stop this development. |
| 570 | Maggie Kolasky | Woolworth's moving in will change the overall mood and feeling of Erskineville Village for the worse. The community feeling will change with the addition of an ordinary retailer moving in. |
| 571 | Liz-Rae Thometzek | Please leave Newtown alone!!! It is special because it is AS IT IS!!! Commercial monolpolies are an abomination both economically, logistically and socially. |

| 574 | annabelle mallia | i'd like to preserve the village atmosphere of erskineville |

| 577 | zio ledeux | i am opposed to this constuction for the reasons already previously mentioned. major increase in traffic the effect this development will have on the community and local business and the fact we already have enough supermarkets in the area |
| 578 | Nijole Cork | Please save the village like strip shopping centre in Erskineville and keep the sterile shopping malls for the suburbs. |
| 579 | Mirabelle Wouters | |
| 580 | Amy Reynolds | |
| 581 | Dolores Turro | Erskineville & Newtown have that amazing sense of inner city community, and doesn't need a monster supermarket that will upset the lives of locals as well as those of us that go to the area on a regular basis.
Thanx for keeping this website open for all of us to voice our opinions! |
| 582 | frank mccabe | the reason we live in thisw area is because of the community in this area, this would be desroyed having a large multinational coorperation in this area, this would ruin the the area, we do not need this development here. I strongly oppose this development, please don't destroy our area, Frank McCabe |

| 584 | Anonymous | I support a full impact study particularly for parking. I am also concerned about the impact on Marrickville Metro which is my local market. Mkvle Metro houses some very small and important providers which I do not believe a single store can provide and it might put pressure on the smaller shops that had to retreat from high rent on King street to Marrickville Metro. |

| 587 | Naomi Morris | Erskineville is a unique area that's village atmosphere and local business community is an asset to be built upon and not destroyed by homogeneous big business. Please protect this beautiful suburb and keep what is so desirable about it being lost as with so many other places in Sydney. With Alexandria so close wouldn't this be a more appropriate place for a supermarket? Please keep Sydney's villages! |
| 588 | Nick Cooper | |
| 589 | Dr Hilary Rhodes | I really do not see the necessity for yet another supermarket in the Erskineville area, and certainly not another voracious Woolworths store.
Firstly, there are plenty of stores in the area like the Food Market and the greengrocer. There are also several shops in Swanson street near the oval. The proposed supermarket is so near King Street that is redundant, and no more convenient to Erskinevillians than those stores in that area.
Why another Woolworths, anyway? Woolworths just takes away more business from local vendors. After all, it will be pretty near Foodworks in the Plaza.
Traffic is congested in that area and there will be even more of a bottleneck than there already is. Observe the queues that go right back from King Street to Erskineville Station many times a day.
I hope this development is not approved. |

| 593 | Anonymous | This would be the most unproductive unapproachable supermarket in all of Sydney due to the fact that everyone will not beable to get to it.Look what happened to MacDonalds when they tried to have a store here, waste of time |
| 594 | Anonymous | I've only lived here a short time, but part of what I love about Erskineville is it's community feel. Having come from an area that is chock-a-block full of McMansions, I really appreciate Erskineville for its unique atmosphere and hope that this petition will serve to preserve that. |
| 595 | Gwilym Griffiths | |
| 596 | Tony Giardina | |
| 597 | Candice Hardy | I live in Erskineville and I use the supermarket at Marrickville Metro, which is perfect for me. We definitely don't need another one. |
| 598 | Carlie Watson | |
| 599 | David Bell | I have to drive around for ages to get a park near home now! How bad it will be with a Woolies on the the road? No more commercial development in Erko please!!!! |
| 600 | Patrick B Deere | This sevelopment is entirely inappropiate and not needed for the area |
