| 453 | Kristy Eulenstein | I believe the development is unrealistic in its estimation of vehicla access to the site. That part of Erskineville Rd is too congested already, by including a carpark entrance on either street would cause more unnecessary congestion.
There is no community need for another Supermarket, given the close proximity of two supermarkets on King Street and well as the specialty food outlets an independent market in Erskineville Village itself. |

| 456 | Margot Foster | As a resident of Charles Street Erskineville I am strongly opposed to this development and have outlined my reasons in an objection letter to Council. |
| 457 | Christopher Ahern | Completely unacceptable type of development for Erskineville Village in terms of use, scale, operating hours, traffic and general impact on residents. There is a far higher cost to the community than any benefit that is provided. Why do we need another supermarket when there is the Metro, Broadway and IGA within 5 minutes drive - a pertinent point when a majority of people drive to do the weekly shopping rather walk. |
| 458 | BART BARRACK | 20 plus vans per day over 5 metres in length at this site repesents a total overdeveloment of the site .
Trading hours of 7am – 10pm 7 days a week, with trucks arriving any time of day and night will totally destroy the ambience of the area.
There will be unacceptable noise from all trucks reversing. Street parking will be lost
All vehicles to exit the building into Angel Lane at the rear or near residences.
Cars and trucks will bank up in this area as Erskineville Road is already often bottle necked at this narrow point.
Comprehensive consultation with directly affected residents / owners.should commence immediately.
A Social Impact Study should be commissioned immediately.
A Traffic Impact Study discussed should be discussed with the local community immediately.

| 460 | Anonymous | I live in Erskineville and do not want this development going ahead. The traffic is already bad up Erskineville Road, we don't need any more, not to mention those who would use the back streets to escape the chaos |

| 462 | Laura Macfarlane | I have written a letter outlining my reasons for opposing this DA. It has been cc'd to Friends of Erskineville Village |
| 463 | Laurence Heron | negative > positive = no benefit |
| 464 | Dominica Heron | A supermarket as proposed is completely unnecessary and threatens the very fibre of our beautiful village. |

| 467 | Patrick Armstrong | This shopping centre is unecessary and will be a nightmare for Erskineville. |
| 468 | Anna Molnar | To Whom It May Concer,
I quite often visit my friends who live on Newman Street and I love the cosy atmosphere of Newtown, the little friendly shops where the shopkeeper knows my name already and the various restaurants and coffee shops where we can satisfy our appetite choosing from different national cuisines.
Erskineville Village is as charming as the little Italian, Greek and French villages and it would be devastating to destroy its charm and magic feeling with the new development |
| 469 | teresa werstak | We do not need supermarket because it will create:
extensive level of polution, noise, traffick, more trucks, parking problem, problem for pedestrian, not safety for kids, horible atmosfere for whole Erskineville. |

| 473 | Thomasine Maye | Erskineville is a VILLAGE! It has lovely narrow one way local access roads and a beautiful main stretch of shops that provide sufficient goods and services to locals and those stopping off to enjoy the casual, relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.
Delivery trucks will NOT FIT down the narrow one way roads and will be a major disturbance to our neighbourhood let alone causing further congestion on Erskineville Rd.
SAVE OUR VILLAGE |

| 475 | Jim Zafiriou | It is unbelievable to think they are planning such a thing in that area, anybody who has past that place during a normal working day would know that it is laughable. |
| 476 | r.w.parker | Being a past resident of Newtown in 1999. We left for the simple reason that we were unable to cope with the increaseing trafic problems, God help every one in Erskinville & Newtown if this development go's ahead. |

| 480 | Anonymous | We cannot stand by and watch another Sydney community fall to big business. |
| 481 | Pawel Malczewski | I don't know 1 person in Erskineville who would want Woolworth or any other supermarket to be built. |
| 482 | Ian Thomas | |
| 483 | Cassandra | |
| 484 | Mahalia Bowden | Absolutely AGAINST this supermarket. I am a union st resident, sts are chocked enough with cars, local businesses will suffer I will never shop there if this goes ahead. I will always support the local businesses!!!!!!! |
| 485 | Gordon MacVicar | |
| 486 | Kieran Ashe | The idea of a two storey supermarket at the corner of Erskineville Road and Gowrie Street is abhorrent to the residents of the area. |
| 487 | Anonymous | This shopping centre could not be a worse idea. Traffic which is strained already will be much much worse. |
| 488 | Mark | Erskineville Rd is congested enough during peak times. One can keep up with the traffic, on foot!
This development will turn the street into a carpark. |
| 489 | Anonymous | As a resident of the area , I can see nothing but traffic conjestion surrounding this developement , Erskineville road is already too busy , and the exit onto Angel street will make the intersection at Erskinville road a total nightmare ( especially a right hand turn) . then add to this the additional cars that will be competing for parking spaces on the already crowded streets . More consultation with the residents that will be directly effected by the additional noise/ traffic/ pollution/ should take place, We have ample shopping outlets and supermarkets , |
| 490 | Carolyn Boyd | We love our village the way it is and don't want a big supermarket complex coming in ... |
| 491 | alison morgan | Please do not destroy Erskineville Village. The charm and ambiance is just gorgeous and a big development such as a supermarket would just ruin the feeling of the area and create congestion!!!! |
| 492 | Richard Morgan | |
| 493 | matt shepherd | |
| 494 | Peter Alexander Heinrich | A development like this would ruin the community. |
| 495 | Danielle Picklum | the traffic situation up erskineville road AS IT IS is pathetic, can you imagine what extra traffic there will be not to mention the trucks that have to deliver to the supermarket. NO WAY. |
| 496 | Anonymous | Whatever happened to the City of Villages???
Erskineville will no longer be a village if there is a major supermarket just up the road. All the local small businesses will suffer as will the local residents who will have a huge increase in pedestrian and vehicle traffic passing through normally quiet side streets. I believe it will also devalue a lot of properties as people move here for the culture and street cafe society which will be eroded over time...
NO TO WOOLWORTHS IN ERSKINEVILLE |
| 497 | Carol Phillips | Erskineville Road is already heavily congested, particularly on Friday nights and weekends. A supermarket on the corner of Gowrie Street will dramatically increase foot and vehicle traffic in the area and I can just imagine what a nightmare it will be trying to get through there. |
| 498 | Ian Brittain | I live locally ,as well as working for the oldest realestate company locally - Richardson & Wrench Newtown. I have been involved in numerous very good developments over the past 10 years and have handeled many property sales . I believe this to be a VERY shortsited proposal which would do a great deal of harm to the local way of life that we have all come to enjoy and benefit from . A develoment such as this DOES NOT bring any benefit to the local community . It does not in any way ad to the village community and in deed would harm local property values by effectively killing off our very treasured village attmosphere. SAY NO ! |
