GENOCIDE IS NEWS - your last name cannot be viewed

Dear (news station),
We urge your news station, as well as stations all around the world to cover the situation in Darfur Sudan. This genocide has been going on since 2003. It has reached alarming proportions and it is time something is done about it. For the first time, President Bush has made somewhat of a resolution to the problem. He has asked to give 339 million dollars to the African Union in order to send peacekeeping troops to the troubled region of Darfur. But is that really enough? The answer is obvious, No. Still 80% of children suffer from severe malnutrition, over 400,000 people have died, women are raped, enslaved, 500 people die every day, villages have been completely destroyed, millions are displaced an still thousands are left struggling to survive in refugee camps. Its time regular citizens take a stand. "Why ignore a genocide, if we can STOP a genocide." If a few million people could just give one dollar, the situation could nearly end. Lets not once again allow history to repeat itself. The media has failed to cover this issue. I have rarely seen it in the news. Instead of covering the latest trends or celebrities, why not cover REAL news? Genocide IS news. How can regular citizens help something they do not know? It is the medias obligation to educate on such a serious topic like genocide.
