| 2402 | Anonymous | Please stop culling in any form. Elephants are beautiful animals and deserve to be loved. They should be an animal your country promotes, not culls. |
| 2403 | lara reddy | Elephant culling is a pathetic excuse to save our biodiversity and environment...If we see the life and value in ourselves then surely we should see the collosal life and value of Elephants and all other animals that people assume share the Earth to serve human purposes only...Please stop the culling! If we are to see ourselves as a civilised nation and one truly interested in preserving all life. |
| 2404 | vanessa | PLEASE END THE SLAUGHTER OF ELEPHANTS FOR IVORY or any other reason.
These beautiful sensitive animals dont seserve it. There is too much cruelty and greed. PLEASE make a change. It is heartbreaking. |

| 2423 | Dr. Michael Sell | Scientists and researchers in the field agree that culling is not only cruel but countrproductive. This move by the South African Government isobviously politically and economically motivated. Shame on a government that should be more sensitive to the oppressed. |

| 2430 | Olivia de Bruyn | National Geographic has done many studies into the culling of Elephants, all over the world. They have founded that not only is it deterimental to the future populations of the Elephant but also to the infrastructure of the group. These animals are very close to human beings and their group structures are the same. In many studies where Elephant killed humans it was because of witnessing culling as a calf.
Not only did the rogue bulls growing up without the leadership of males in the group become delinquent, they killed Rhinos, humans etc. until an alpha male was once again introduced to teach them how to behave.
Thus a problem is not solved by culling but actually created for future generations, park staff and tourists to deal with.
Elephants can be relocated, studies have shown that it is not so expensive. I live in Phalaborwa close to the Kruger National Park, and it is nonsense to say that they effect the park negatively. It is one of our loveliest animals, smart, with human emotions.
Seek an alternative please. |
