| 371 | Will | Goodrum | US | One of our public stations, PBS, has had Eastenders on since the 1980's (I believe). They have said it has been on the air in America 20-something years. I only started watching the series during the 1999 season of the show. I would love to see the first season of the show to see how everything is connected. I'd also like to watch the classic scenes like the whole Bianca, Carol and Dan triangle. That is where I started watching the show. Right now, I am recording each episode on VHS tape to tide myself over until (hopefully) the series comes out on DVD. You could maybe have each year made into a boxed set, or you could have a set for each season. For example the year 1990: a set for the summer episodes, a set for the fall episodes, ect. Eastenders DVDs would definately be a huge hit. Especially if there are bonus footage and stuff like that. Behind the scenes, behind the characters, whatever. |

I quit watching this show on PBS after my mum died in 1999 because we used to confab about the show. Started watching on PBS again in 2004 and got hooked again. So I missed about 4-5 years. Then in the move to Oz, since PBS in the US is so behind Australia, I missed about 3 years again. I would without question buy every episode put out on DVD of the only soap that counts!!!!!!!! |

I have just recently been informed that today's showing was the final showing due to cancelation. Everyone has that one show that they look forward to every week and Eastenders was that for me. I moved to the states in 89' and this show always brought a little bit of home and familarity to me. If there is anyway that a DVD collection could be released I would gladly pay to keep a part of history that carries with it strong family values.
