As a loyal fan, donator and former graduate 2003; I have seen great things from our ULCA athletics. However, this years performance given that Dorrrell has had time to build "his team” is unacceptable. There were glimmers of hope in the prior years but nothing has truly stood out in Dorrell’s performance. I am tired of seeing SC rule the Pac ten an continue to humiliate us on the field, watching my beloved Bruin football team flounder time and time again is to much. I appreciate the effort Dorrell has made, but it is time to look for better options.
If the program is going to be a national level ,or even a Pac-10 upper level program, it is clear that Karl Dorrell is not the coach you(we) want. The gap between UCLA and the better teams is getting larger as more time goes on. Speaking of that, if the Bruins really want to compete on a top level with the best teams is the nation, they(we) need a home field advantage,! The Rose Bowl is a great place, but it is far to large, and too far from campus.

I have held season tickets in 2001, and 2002. I have attended multiple games every year since 1999. I will attend no more games until a new coach that can honor our proud tradition is hired. Dorrell is an embarrassment. Headed for third non-winning year out of four.
Please make the change soon. Our players deserve better.
UCLA football should be much more than an afterthought in college football history. We can and should be a football program to be recon with. However, that will never happen with Dorrell as a head coach. He had proven time and time again to be out-coached by opposing team. He never plays to win. He is not an inspiration to the team. And he is an embarrassment to the university whenever he had to speak publicly. It’s also unacceptable to place direct blames on players who are out there playing their hearts out. Mr. Guerrero had done a great job hiring Coach Howland who had resurrected our basketball program from the abyss created by Steve Lavin. It's immediately apparent our B-ball players are better motivated, better prepared, and continually developing under Howland. I sincerely believe we could duplicate the success to our football program, but we must make the decisive action by firing Dorrell and start diligent search around the country immediately. Thank you.
Every year he has coached, I have yet to see an improved team in November.....God I wanted him to do well but he's not head coaching material...neither was Paul Hackett.

We need a coach with a proven record as head coach, not a WR coach from the NFL.
THE FACT IS, SINCE WE ARE IN THE SAME CITY AS USC, THIS RECORD IS UNACCEPTABLE. WE ARE NOW AT LEAST 10 YEARS BEHIND USC IN FOOTBALL. DO WE WANT TO PLAY BIG TIME FOOTBALL OR NOT....THEN TREAT THE PROGRAM AS BIG TIME NOT A LEARNING PROCESS. THIS COACH IS NOT BIG TIME.... JOHN HOLLAND
1991 graduate who is willing to donate more money for a great coach.
I really wanted Dorrell to succeed, however, its time to move on and get a proven head coach who can elevate this program to the pinnacle of college football.
Where do I begin! I never thought our UCLA football program would take a turn for the worst. But it has with Karl Dorrell. We need to get back on track and stop being a average program! FIRE DORRELL!
Coach Dorrell may be a very nice guy, however, he is not winning football games. Nice guys finish last. There is no fire or killer instinct to put away the other team and claim victory. He and his coaches make to many bad coaching decisions during a game. They make no obvious adjustments during halftime against the other team(s). They use the worse defense in football history at the end of the ND Game, the "prevent defense". All the prevent defense prevents is you winning the game. We need a coach like those people acoss town have. Find use a winning coach. Thank you.

1993 UCLA Grad - very disappointed in lack of commitment to football compared to basketball.

YEAH!
He's a good man, just a very poor coach.

Coach Dorrell had plenty of opportunities. UCLA is a joke when it comes to football and it should reflect on the coaching staff.

For the first time in 20 years, i have sold my ucla vs usc tickets. I also will not be attending any other games until a HC change is made.

I agree with Kevin's comments. The atheletic program should never be put at the forefront of a UCLA's agenda for the future, however, Karl Dorrell is not living up to the excellence we have established as a University. I applaud the kind of citizens he is helping to produce but feel strongly that we need to be more competetive in the football field.
So true. Let's make UCLA football good again.
Please fire Karl Dorrell.

UCLA Class of 1998. Never lost to U$C while I was a student. Bring back Bob Toledo...please.
When hiring a new coach, Please hire a qualified candidate, based on actual experience. Please do not let race be a determining factor in choosing a new head coach.
10-2 was a fluke. Anyone who watched knew last year's team really should have been 5-7.

I went to the Las Vegas a few years back. I saw it clearly, we were winning easily, and Dorrell gave the game away. Watch a tape of that game, where Dorrell had the Wyoming punter rekick after a Wyoming penalty. The kicker had just shanked the kick, we had the ball at midfield, and Dorrell for some idiotic reason wanted the guy to kick again. I was 15 rows up behind the bench on the 50 yard line, yelling "NO!, decline the penalty!" Wyoming kicked again, and fumble. The momentum went their way, and we lost. It was clear to me then, even before then when I gave up my season tickets that Dorrell was a bad coach.
UCLA '96
I regret buying the student sports package for this football season! Dorrell's coaching only makes me look forward to basketball season!
I feel KD has been given enough time to turn our program around. unfortunately he is not the man for the job and must be replaced. we have enough talent on the field to be a ranked team but the inadequate coaching is preventing our athletes from reaching their full potential.
I agree 100%!!!

We need someone who can recruit players that are able to tackle...
Make it happen!
spend the money on real talent realize that it isn't difficult to get kids into westwood go bruins!
I agree with most of this petition. Karl Dorrell seems to be a gentleman and a genuine nice guy, and I'm not one of those who believe you have to be a macho jerk to be a successful big time coach -- Pete Carroll would appear to evidence that. But Mr. Dorrell just doesn't bring results. His recruiting is woeful, compared other big-time programs, and his ability to coach his way to victories even with less spectacular talent is suspect as well. The bottom line is: It's his fourth year. It's high time the program got going, and it's not. Someone should be held accountable. Even as you should be held accountable for your hire. Isn't that what all this is about? Accountability? Forget USC. If Cal can do it year after year, why can't UCLA?
