Turn around the program. Dorrell has been a downgrade from Toledo...
Fire him now please.
UCLA is too big of a school, and has too much pride to be the training grounds for unexperienced coaches. If you spend the money you WILL get results, you only have to look at pauley pavilion to see this.
As nice as a guy, and as good of a wide receiver Coach was for UCLA, we need to go into another direction and hire an established head coach, like we did with Coach Howland and basketball.
I really hope this petition finally ends the nightmare!!
I'm a nice guy, and so is KD, but GD, KD has to go.
As a UCLA student, I watched our team play our way into a 10 and 2 record last year as a freshman. I was amazed at the heart provided by UCLA athletics. Now, as a sophomore, having witnessed many of our teams on the field and off, I fail to see that same pride and competitive spirit in Karl Dorrell. Our athletes show it, our coaches show it, Karl Dorrell does not. He does not have the competitive edge and strict discipline that are required of Division I-A coaches. I strongly urge you to find a coach worthy of the UCLA name and all that it stands for. -Tyler Glaze

i love ucla sports, especially ucla football. please get a new coach who is passionate about the game and who wants to win!!!
This is an unacceptable performance for the fourth year of this coach's tenure. This university deserves better.
I was very optimistic when Karl Dorrell was hired to replace the filthy slob known as Bob Toledo and take our Bruins to the top, as they should be. After two mediocre seasons I became suspicious and weary of where our program was heading. A 10-2 season soon followed and restored my optimism. After witnessing the UCLA Football program being embarrassed, destroyed, and made a mockery of week after week this season, I am now wondering what the hell A.D. Dan Guerrero is waiting for. It is official, I now hate Karl Dorrell and put him on my long list of "Lifetime People I will always Hate" which includes Pete Carroll, Bob Toledo, Osama Bin Laden, and many others.
It's a shame that I have to sign this, because it's always tough for someone to lose his job, but maybe Karl Dorrell would be better off in a different line of work. From his performance over the past few years, it sure doesn't look like he's cut out to be a D-1A football head coach.

The numbers speak for themselves. If nothing else, 66-19 and 7(Soon to be 8?) speak volumes.
The importance of a great coach in college athletics is exhibited right here in our backyard by Ben Howland's influence on Bruin basketball. Let's really get a college/pro football coach that has a proven track record of winning on the field and recruiting in the living rooms. GO BRUINS!!!
I like Dorell but I like UCLA more. Please get a new, more disciplined, hungrier coach. Jon Huer
Adios Dullard. On the job training for a first time head coach should not happen at UCLA. How about former Bruin Rick Neuheisel as head coach? Go Bruins!

FIRE KARL
fire him now....
i am a ucla grad (1993) and a loyal fan and booster to the program. it has been said over and over gain about the desire to have faith in a football coach who believes in himself and his system. coach dorrell is not someone who believes that what he does prduces championships. it seems that his demeanor, and his goals never move past conservative and controlled. we need a FIERY, PASSIONATE leader at the helm of our football program. someone who understands what ucla football has been, and what is supposed to be every year. enough of these half-baked choices with "ties" to the program or even worse Coach Donahue(the original Dorrell)....it is stime to pay someone from the pros or another successful college program. someone who is confident, poised, classy and PISSED!!!

UCLA 88'; Proud Alumni; Physician/Surgeon; Season Ticket Holder; I supported Dorrell until he quit on the road against Washington this year. I don't see why any decent recruit would want to play for him. I realize next year will be better with a more experienced team, however our student athletes deserve better. I traveled to Notre Dame and watched his poor managment lose a game that the players won on the field. With a better game manager, we would probably have at least 2 or 3 more wins this year. I am certain that Pete Carroll would be getting a lot more out of our team than Dorrell does. I think he is a nice person, but he is out of his league, like Lavin was. Please do the right thing.
What a jerk! Show Dan the door, he an idiot!

Karl Dorrell is a quality individual that really cleaned up our football program, and for that, as a Bruins fan, I am grateful. However, I think that our football program is headed in the wrong direction currently. I, among many others, believe that a change in our head coaching position could change the direction of our program. We were promised several years back that we would hire a coach that would nurture a program that could compete, year after year, for bowl games. I just can't see that happening with our current situation. Our team has talent, we should not have a losing record. Our players play their hearts out week after week, and it is widely believed that our coaching is suspect. Don't let them down.

KARL DORREL MAY BE A GOOD ASSISTANT COACH, BUT HE IS TRULY UNPREPARED AS A HEAD COACH. HIS CLOCK MANAGEMENT AND POOR GAME PLANNING ATTEST TO THIS. WE REALLY NEED AN EXPERIENCED HEAD COACH WITH A GOOD TRACK RECORD (SIMILAR TO HOWLAND FOR THE BASKETBALL PROGRAM). DORRELL IS JUST OVER HIS HEAD AND NEEDS MORE EXPERIENCE
Dorrell is football's version of Steve Lavin...Better to pay now than to suffer for years!

I am an alum of UCLA (class of '92) who travels to one road game a year. The experiences have become miserable and its getting tougher and tougher to support the team in any way financially.
Time For A Change.

Please fire this coach.
I am not donating or going to anymore UCLA game until Karl Dorrell is fired.
Karl is a nice man, but we need a Coach to restore the program. Think Ben Howland when you make your pick for a replacement next year.

As a fan of Karl Dorrell when he played for UCLA and a supporter of his hiring, I now feel that it is time to move on.
I've been a UCLA fan following UCLA football for 2 decades, although I chose Cal over my hometown school for academic reasons. This is the first time I can see the failure is in the coaching. Yes, Dorrell has straightened the non-football aspects of the team out, but the football aspect of the team is not good, and doesn't hold any bright future. If you're happy with 8-4 or 7-5 records, keep him. But if you want to go further, you must replace him.

I will not support Bruin football in any way as long as Dorrell is coach.

He made Marty Schottenheimer look like a riverboat gambler in that game against ND. Fire him.
Nothing personal, it is just past-due time for a change. Best wishes to KD, I hope he finds a position where he can contriubte positively.
He's been given enough time.
As a alumni, I can't bear to watch what has become of our football program. We are UCLA and not CSUN. We have the most NCAA titles and we should and cannot stand for this type of embarrassment year in and year out. Dan Guerrero take some responsibility and action.
