Class of 2000, current supporter and season ticket holder (Tunnel 5, Row 54, Seats 7-13). I will continue to root for the players on the field, who deserve a better leader...however, I will now withold all future financial contributions to the University and Athletic Department, until I see a sincere dedication to the football program from you Mr. Guerrero. I know that we cannot win every game, but the way we are losing, the lack of progress in the football program, the poor preparation, and the b.s. remarks in the media made by YOUR head coach have got to stop. Our football program is a reflection of its leader: soft, inept, and the laughing stock of other top programs.
still looking for some actual leadership. team is so unpredictable that the finger must point to the head coach.

I concur entirely with petition, It summarizes my feelings better than I could. Let me further add that waiting till the end of the season does NO good. It leaves a negative cloud over the entire program. We know he is gone. Once you know, it is time to move. Nothing is wasted. An interim coach would do as well as Mr Dorrell in the remaining games, and possibly better, simply because the element of doubt is gone. The recruiting of a new coach could proceed with more certitude and honesty and more choices among the various candidates.
Please fire Dorell and Svoboda. They clearly do not know a thing about running an offense and getting their team to play some inspired ball. For the love of God, please fire them soon so you can bring some respectability back to UCLA football.
How embarrassing our football coaching staff is. It was a disgrace to lose to Notre Dame with 30 seconds left. Dorrell has never beaten SC. If you want me to continue giving money to the alumni association you need to find a real coach.
It's not just the wins and losses that upset me about Karl Dorrell; it's the way we lose. If you watch the games he stubbornly never deviates from the same play calls throughout the game and always plays for the field goal once he reaches the 30 yard line. He loves to shut down the offense and play not to lose every chance he can, too. Even last year our offense couldn't get rolling until the 4th quarter when we were behind and just forced to throw while at the same time throwing out KD's "gameplan". Every year our Bruin football team takes a huge step back in the second half of the year. Karl always starts off the year decently before his Bruin team completely collapses in the second half of the season, including last year with 2 huge blowout losses. Our teams never improve under him, just regress. Every year we do decent with Dorrell, which is inevitably every now and then since we are UCLA, we would have done better with someone else. If this is a rebuilding year then it's Dorrell's 3rd rebuilding year in 4 years. It's also the first year the team is all his recruits (minus a few fifth year seniors) and their is no standout talent at the skill positions. The offensive line is still lacking too. Either he can't coach or can't recruit. I think both. Two of our great players last year, Lewis and Olson weren't his recruits either. Don't even get me started about punting down 17 with 4 minutes to go against Oregon, his three running plays in a row at the end of the ND game when we desperately needed a first down to seal the game, the playcalling the entire 4th quarter of that game, or his horrendous time management skills.

I'm a student currently attending UCLA.

As an alum, I am embarrassed that our administration is so willing to accept mediocrity, especially in such a high profile area. While Karl Dorrell appears to be an excellent person, he is not the appropriate coach to lead our program. Please, make the proper decision now so that we can quickly return to the top of the Pac 10 and the nation.

I am sick of watching mediocre UCLA football. We need a change, beginning with the top.
Fire Dorrell!

As a 1981 graduate of UCLA, I have always taken tremendous pride in having attended this great university. Through the years, I have been a faithful fan of all UCLA athletics, again taking great pride in our achievements, and sharing the sorrow when we were unsuccessful. But these last 4 years have been different, and an objective look at the statistics alone reveal the obvious reasons why. Please help UCLA move on from this noble experiment, and do the right thing - replace Karl Dorrell as head coach, before the season ends.
Please Dan, dont turn your back on our alma mater
The age of Dorrell must end now. Yes, the bruins had a decent season last year and were pretty much lucky, but when it came to a meaningless game like Zona and an important game like USC, we were embarrassed. UCLA has always been full of pride and love of their sports, and frankly, with the way the football team is playing, this strong sense of pride is fading. The players are not at fault. Karl Dorrell gets OUTCOACHED. period. A true winning season and bcs bid means more attendence, with equals more revenue for the school. Fire Dorrell and watch us prosper!
Fire this schmuck
i've always been a supporter of KD but this is too much. as a student and friend to a few football players, KD is not getting it done.

UCLA alumni here, and I don't understand why we can't have an elite football program! Dorrell has no killer instinct when his team is actually up (rather than coming from behind). While I respect him as a person, I'm embarrassed to have him as a head coach.
I have been a season ticket holder for 10 years. I was in South Bend to witness once again Dorells ineptitude. It is time for him to go now!
When are we going to commit to excellence in Football?
I'm an alumni and right now I'm embarrased of the product that is on the field under Dorrell. 4 yrs of mediocrity is enough. He is obviously a young coach that is over his head in this position.
I'm sick of being bewildered by our coach's decision making. Get a new coach. Go Bruins

Dorrell needs to show more emotion. He needs to make it seem like he gives a sh*t. Fire his ass.
I agree with the above, it's time for Dorrell to move on. The AD should look across town for an example of a suitable coach.

No more excuses, no more empty promises and no more money to UCLA until they remove Karl Dorrell.
Class of 2006. Probably will come back in a year or two. I've really wanted, pulled, pushed for Karl to succeed, but this really sucks. Karl will land on his feet somewhere, I'm sure, but not here, at least not right now. Team full of his recruits is soft as jello, especially the defense. Offense couldn't score on Jenna Jameson. The only time the offense gets moving is when the game is over, and even that takes too long. Sitting around watching football is a big waste of time as it is, but sitting around watching not just losing but getting-your-head-kicked-in football is an even bigger waste of time.
Svoboda is also a joke of an OC and needs to be canned as well.

we need someone with winning experience at the head coaching position!!!1 (like Howland!)
