We (14 season ticket holders) have had football season tickets for the last 23 years and it has gotten to the point were we don't even bother going into the games anymore. Its not the players fault, it’s the head coaches fault that we are losing. When you get the recruits that we have gotten and you still don’t win then you know it’s the coaching. Thank God our home field is at the Rose Bowl because if you stick with what you have (coaching) this is the only way that we can Wake up and smell the roses. It’s going to be a long time before we will play at the Rose Bowl on New Years Day

While Dorrell maybe a nice guy and should be praised for running a clean program at wcost is this being achieved? Without the comeback wins of last year, Dorrell would be an average if not mediocre coach- his record be an average of 6 games a season. You can find an ethical coach with a passion for winning and instilling in his team the necessary principles to win games, remain competitive throughout in both their time with him and when they leave. UCLA seems to want mediocrity in its football program which I as a graduate don't understand
CAN SOMEONE GET RIDE OF DORRELL? HIS COACHIHNG IS AFFECTING MY MARRIAGE!!!

I have never seen a coaching staff not rotate players on the field. You have 80+ players on scholarship but they only play the same 22 players. If your defense has been on the field 40 mins, then rotate 1st and 2nd string to give player the rest. Any other college or even high school level team rotates players. You would think we were playing middle school level football. Not only are the players moral suffering, you can see the frustration they are experiencing in there playing the game. If you recuit 80+ players then at least play half of them by rotating, add some new blood. I would like to see all the coaches replace and just start all over, like I said you would think we were playing middle school level football.

It's sad that I'm a recent graduate (class of 06) and I have no desire to go to football games anymore. It's painful even watching games on TV. Somebody needs to turn this program around. All I can say is thank God for Ben Howland and UCLA basketball. I think everyone needs some cheering up after an embarassing football season.
Unacceptable to have a coach who gets outcoached virtually every game and who plays not to lose instead of to win.

It is abundantly clear that you get what you pay for. And as long as UCLA is happy with paying for a fair coach,a fair wage, all that we will get is fair results. Stop the bleeding Dan G. and find a coach as good as your basketball team has.

UCLA doesn't need to be just a Basketball school. That kind of short sighted thinking is what gets people like Karl Dorrell hired.

Karl Dorrell is a very moraly sound, dignified, and passionate person however he is not head coaching material. If programs like Texas Tech, TCU, Connecticut, Rutgers, Hawaii, Wake Forest, Utah, BYU, etc can turn their football programs around why cant UCLA? As a fan I don't want to wait another 3 years before UCLA wins 10 games and is in the national spotlight I want to see my team go out and compete every game. When I watch UCLA football now this is not what I see. If you choose to keep Karl then you will have lost another fan.

Can't we at least get a punt off without having to call timeout because 12 players are on the field???

Class on and off the field does not have to be mutually exclusive with winning. Look around the country - Rutgers? Michigan? CAL?
Class of '86. I attended UCLA during our most recent golden era of football, '82-'86. I was one of the managers during the '82 season working w/ Homer Smith and four great UCLA QB's. Karl Dorrell was on that team and he was a very gifted and intelligent player both in games and practice. He was also very quiet and subdued and certainly not one of the team leaders. 25 years later he is the same person as most of us tend to be. Nothing wrong with that but it tends to get in the way of being a leader of young men on the football field. I am embarrased by what I see on the field. The team seems totally unprepared and Dorrell's game day management is atrocious. Throw in the fact that his brand of football is boring to watch and you have a prescription for disaster at the turnstiles. I feel nothing but apathy about this program and no desire to attend any more games which is sad since I live 2 miles from the Rose Bowl. A change in head coaching is needed NOW. When this does occur please spend the money to attract a high caliber coach or we will go through this again and again until we hit rock bottom. Thank you, Peter Borawski
