The petition

There are many environmental issues that face our world today¡¦but Duke students can make a difference! Join us in calling on the student body to step up and demonstrate our commitment to the principles of efficiency and sustainability.

I APPROVE THE CREATION OF A $10 PER SEMESTER SUSTAINABILITY FEE THAT WILL GENERATE A STUDENT – CONTROLLED FUND TO SUPPORT ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS ON CAMPUS.

This fund will give Duke students the opportunity to reduce the environmental impact our university has on our local and global communities. If approved, the fee will go into effect in the spring of 2008 and will be a part of tuition for both undergraduate and graduate students.
