Andrew DaviesI cannot believe they want to clear this land! Are there not enough strip malls and office buildings in this neighborhood already? I didn't know there was a waterway back there, but even if it was just trees they should leave it alone!
Jerry ThomasI have lived on Dr Phillips Blvd since 1983 directly across the street from this glorious piece of natural beauty. It has been used as a park by our community since 1978. It is a refuge from the ever encroaching development of every inch of land in this area. It is a place where we can relax and experience the natural beauty that was once Florida. Children can be shown the wonders of nature and how we all relate to each other. How will they learn how to protect the environment if they can never see the natural environment. Dr. Phillips Foundation: Please come to your senses and realize there are many already built office developments in the area that are looking for tenants. Save our forest. Help clean it up and enhance it. Join with our community to improve it so that everyone can experience the natural beauty of what was once a beautiful state.
Michael B. KaneWe need your support and help in stopping the destruction of The Park at 7420 Dr. Phillips Boulevard. The Dr. Phillips Foundation is interested in putting their headquarters on the property along with other office space. The park has been under covenant twice as a Park and Recreation Site from the Dr. Phillips Foundation to Orange County for periods of ten years each with the last expiring in 2001. The property is currently zoned as Medium Density Residential (MDR) and the Dr. Phillips Foundation is seeking a zoning change to Office (O). There has been a continuous erosion of the residential fabric of the Dr. Phillips Community through these land use changes and a loss of the vision Dr. Phillips had when he developed the community. The park is full of mature trees and a variety of wildlife in the heart of an urban setting that would be a shame to lose. One individual familiar with the property referred to it as an emerald necklace. Your community would appreciate your attendance at the community meeting to voice our opposition. If you cannot attend, please call or write our Commissioner Teresa Jacobs at 407-836-7350, 201 S. Rosalind Ave., 5th Floor, Orlando, FL 32801. Comments may be faxed to 407-836-5879 or emailed to district1@ocfl.net. You also may contact the planner in charge of the change – Jennifer DuBois at 407-836-5396, Orange County Planning Division, P. O. Box 1393, Orlando, Florida 32802. Comments to Ms. DuBois may be faxed to 407-836-5862 or emailed to planning@ocfl.net.
Linda K. DirksenI am an area resident and walk along the Dr. Phillips Forest several times a week. The elimination of this forest to make way for office development would greatly reduce the beauty of Dr. Phillips Boulevard. Thank you.
Janet JonesMy grandchildren live across Dr. Phillips Boulevard from the forest. They are 7th generation Floridians. Please don't take away a portion of their heritage. So little remains.

Bobbie AbbottThis little swath of land is a precious "Emerald Necklace" nestled among condos, strip malls, schools and paved roads. When you walk this precious park, you are transported into another world. With development, man has taken away the homes of the wildlife and the flora that SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO LIVE HERE. Walk the walk... then talk the talk to keep, restore and preserve this beautiful little piece of forest.
Dorothea P. ShineI am tired of seeing every inch of property in our Dr. Phillips area being destroyed. We have enough stores, restaurants, office buildings, etc. in this area. What we need are trees and a place for wildlife to live. We need a quiet place.

Francis SpinaI definitely am against them building office condos in that area.
Elizabeth GmazelWe must save land in Florida. There are too many empty buildings already. Also the small animals need space to live.
David EnsignThis would be an absolute disgrace and make the neighborhood far less attractive. Is this tacky Metro West or is this the charming community of Dr Philips?
harry manciawe should preserve a natural wooded area ! We are being surrounded by many buildings and the animals are losing their homes.
Deborah SteinmetzENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!
Louise RitleyPlease do NOT allow developers to take any more of the green land of Dr. Phillips.
Elaine NewcomeThis piece of land is part of how I associate Dr. Phillips' feel of a real neighborhood and a real home. It would truly be a shame to see this land developed into office buildings. Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved into the Dr. Phillips area because it felt more like a real neighborhood than other areas of Orlando. Dr. Phillips Forrest is part of what makes Dr. Phillips a beautiful place to live, and it is part of what drew my fiancee and I to this neighborhood. This area is loved by so many people in Dr. Phillips, please respect the wishes of the people in this neighborhood and more importantly the animals who call Dr. Phillips Forrest Home. Please preserve this land for future generations and the continuing beauty of Dr. Phillips.
Philip GoslingaHow can we talk about being GREEN and have more concrete built!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Emily WallacePlease don't let Dr. Phillips turn into Metrowest with all strip malls and parking lots! We've seen owls, bald eagles, and many more types of wildlife from migrating birds to box turtles. Please don't force them out of their homes.
Jody CibakCan we leave at least 1 (one) tree standing? Stop this re-zoning.
Sue BehnkePlease save this land from development!!!!
adam braunThis is the only place i n Dr. Phillips to still enjoy natural florida. If the late Dr. Phillips or Della for that matter knew what they are trying to do, they would turn in there graves. As most of us know, Phillip was a man of agraculture. If this property is not saved maybe we can send our children to the marketplace parking lot so they can see our new interpretation of natural florida... the trees in the parking lot.. This park is my back yard, as each morning i wake, its all that is seperating my home from the blvd. please lets all tell these greedy so called philantrapist's enough is enough!! adam s. braun

Asha PintoThank you for letting local residents what is going on in our community. It would be very sad if that last little bit of greenery became a concrete slab instead.
AnonymousPlease, no more.

Suzanne KozaitisThere are things in life that money cannot buy, the things that matter the most. The Foundation needs to get with the times, think green and save the Forest. This is very good PR.

Jennier Brown-KruseThis would be a horrible error that a foundation that has kept a piece of nature safe should make such a decision. I feel areas like this should be protected.

Fred V. BaileyI have had the pleasure of relaxing with family and friends in Dr. Phillips Forest several times over the last few years. It sure would be a shame to destroy the habitat of the wildlife that calls this little patch of woods home just to pour more concrete. Perhaps the Foundation should consider, "What would Dr. Phillips do?"
Russell HarperThis is not a smart way to grow.

AnonymousI have lived in the Dr. Phillips area in Orange Tree for over 28 years. This park is an integral part of our community. It seems every available space is being over taken by a new office building. We need to save this little piece of Dr. Phillips! Let us keep or forest.
