| 253 | Sheila Kopaska-Merkel | This was purely political, and congress IS investigating the Justice department over going after DEmocrats instead of far guiltier REpublicans. |
| 254 | HARRY E VANNESS IV | Don Siegelman DID MORE FOR ALABAMA THAN ANY OTHER GOVENOR HAS FREE SIEGELMAN NOW SO PEOPLE CAN STOP TAKING CREDIT FOR THE THING DON DID WHEN HE WAS GOVERNOR |
| 255 | Dave Songayllo | |
| 256 | Peter Flatman | What happened to the rule of law in this country.. Has it been totally corrupted by Cheney and Rove?? |
| 257 | Massey Lambard | Siegelman has been treated shamefully.
He is a political prisoner.
This is no longer the country I grew up in. |
| 258 | Brian McDonald | |
| 259 | Victoria Glynn | Every facet of this prosecution must be investigated. Any wrong-doing by any prosecutor or judge, state or federal, must be pursued to the maximum legal outcome. |

| 265 | Ann Craig | I am and always have been convinced that the republican party in Alabama is a bunch of deviates. To put what this country stands for at risk for political reasons is disgusting. May all those involved in this injustice be judged harshly. What a terrible thing for someone to undertake the destruction of not only Sielgelman and his family but the trust of the people for the leaders we elected. I am so appalled that Rove continues to walk freely amongst us. We all know he is unashamed just as Bush and Cheney are unashamed. So far all of their misdeeds and lies and corruption have gone unpunished. Please let this be the beginning of a new day in our country. We all need to speak up and pay attention! |
| 266 | Joe Ristow | Don't let them get away with this |
| 267 | Sam&Esther Davis | Free this good and decent human being, Don Siegelman. He is the most honest governor this state has ever known. His family needs him; Alabama needs him. |
| 268 | Anonymous | Governor Siegelman is an innocent man. You will find this to be true upon investigation of his case. |
| 269 | Marilee Runnels | This goes way beyond Watergate, which was kid-stuff in comparison. In addition, what about Jeff Sessions? He was a virtual nobody when this happened. And, he was accused right along with Siegelman. Yet NO ONE brought even one charge against him. And, where is he now? He's a U.S. Senator. Hmmmm!!! If it walks like a duck........... |
| 270 | DAVID LAMBERT | FREE DON NOW
This is an injustice that must be corrected and the gestapo like prosecution brought to justice.
How could this happen in the United States of America? |
| 271 | Anonymous | Free Don Siegelman! Biggest polical injustice of all time. Disgraceful for this to happen in America. |
| 272 | William Crain | I've been following this blight on the judicial system and the Administration who has usurped the non- partisan tact of the system...however it's not Non partisan it's owned and operated by the Bush Crime Family |
| 273 | Susan L. Clark | It is a travesty of justice that he was convicted and sentenced to time. Alabama needs to change. It makes you wonder how many other people have been wrongly convicted and executed. |
| 274 | Carrie Spurling | Please help us free an innocent man! |
| 275 | francis davanza | Put Karl rove, Dubya, and cheney in the slammer,
not this man |
| 276 | Marcus J. Echols | I feel deep down that my friend Don Siegelman will be freed and the corruptors of the U.S. Judicial system will be exposed. We wil all fight on until he's freed! |
| 277 | Maggie Richards | An innocent man - a political prisoner in the good old USA - sits in prison while our Congress wastes our tax dollars investigating a stupid baseball player who did or did not use steroids.
Oversight of the Justice Dept is the business of Congress. Baseball players should be the business of their local police dept & state prosecutors. |
| 278 | Sara Little | |
| 279 | Tom Ryan | Please free Governor Siegelman pending his appeal. It is the right thing to do. |
| 280 | Chris Putnam | |
| 281 | Caswell Forrest | Stop the facist state. |
| 282 | Patrick Hayes | |
| 283 | Joni George | |
| 284 | Mary Kathryn Conant | Rove and everyone involved with Govenor Don Siegelman's internment should be behind bars at a Federal Prison. Enough of this corruption. Don Siegelman is a political prisoner who deserves to be heard. Shame on this Government. |
| 285 | Kelly Alexander | I grew up in Alabama. This is an embarrassment to the entire state as well as a serious miscarriage of justice. Our government has no place putting pressure on the government of China over human rights violations while we are perpetrating this sort of thing ourselves. |
| 286 | Marian Carter | This entire matter stinks like a passel of dead fish left to rot in the sun. From the looks of it, certain Republican political hacks, led by that architect of mischief, Karl Rove, did a ROYAL SCREW JOB on Seigelman. And maybe Bush was complicit. Who knows? Investigate, get names, file charges, apply the thumbscrews, and set Siegelman free! |

| 288 | T S Hardman | The FBI and the US Department of Justice and both judiciary committes should hold hearings on this subject. Judge Fuller should be prosecuted for violating the civil rights of Don Siegelman. Preventing Siegelman's appeal from going forward violates his civil rights. Fuller's receipt of military contracts should also be investigated by the military and the GAO. |
| 289 | Diana Shuey | |
| 290 | Beth King | This is the most egregious, horrible miscarriage of justice I have ever heard of. There should be some people in prison, but Governor Siegelman is not one of them. |
| 291 | John Webb | |
| 292 | Louis Vierra | A TRAVESTY of JUSTICE! |
| 293 | Anonymous | I agree with Dan Abrams of MSNBC: "Siegelman was targeted, railroaded, then unfairly sentenced, though I'm no lawyer and won't pretend to judge on things better left to them. However, this case stinks, and it doesn't take a law degree to know that one. If you've ever read anything about Karl Rove, read about the Siegelman miscarriage of justice, which will remind you of the worst of Rove's dirty tricks."
Don Siegelman deserves to be freed, and retried IFF that is deemed appropriate in review of the so-called evidence.
Sincerely,
Concerned US Citizen from Boston MA |

| 295 | Anonymous | I want a full investigation! |
| 296 | Margaret Wooten | Punish those responsible for the misuse of the Justice Department against Don Siegelman. As a private citizen, teacher and mother, I fear for the future of my country. We must fight the totalitatian push used by the lawless operatives of government. Save our constitution. |
| 297 | Anne Boyle | This is a partisan miscarriage of justice allowed by the President of the United States against a high ranking public official. Corruption reeks throughout our system; slanted media attacks reinforce it and they wrap themselves around the flag and God bless America. The justice department should release Don Siegelman immediately to restore what smidgeon of faith we may have. At this poin, no citizen is safe from our own government. It is shameful. |
| 298 | Anonymous | What have we become ? |
| 299 | Michael Irvin | I feel that Don Siegelman is a political prisoner. |
| 300 | JAY RICHARDS | Maybe after stolen elections and kangaroo justice we should join the USSR as a new member of the republic under Putin? |
