Mykail | Boudreaux | DC | US | I do not have my GP completely under control, and hell.... I do not know any one who does. We really need something to help us live more normal lives. Most people take eating for granted, but when you suffer from GP, you will have days where you cannot. You feel full after a few bites. You puke more than you ever did in your life. I have tried Reglan for GP and it has done nothing for me.... the other drugs do not sound much better. We need something to make this more manageable so that we can move on with our lives.

John | Wilson | | US | I have gastroparesis for some unknown reason. I do not have diabetes, but do take domperidone. I have maintained my weight for about 2 1/2 years with no side effects.
Joanne | Burrows | TX | US | I have been diagnosed with gastroparesis. I have tried 2 of the approved drugs and not had success with either. In fact, Reglan had HORRIBLE side effects for me, that lasted for months. Why is Domperidone not allowed in the US but is in Canada? As a Canadian, I am very aware of the high quality of the Canadian medical/pharmaceutical system. It makes no sense for it to be approved there and not here.

Melisa | Goolsby | TX | US | I have lived with gastroparesis for almost seven years now. Right now domperidone is the only thing that has helped me not constantly be chained to a feeding pump. It is very difficult for me because since the medicine is not FDA approved it cost me nearly $200 a month. Please help those of us who suffer from this terrible disease to gain affordable access to this beneficial medicine.

Anonymous | Anonymous | TX | US | I have been on Domperidone for a year now. I cannot go without it. I half way life a normal life again. It is expensive. I am paying over 100.00 per month for this. It needs to be approved in US so other physicians can use it for their patients. It has done wonders in my life.
Anonymous | Anonymous | KY | US | My husband has to take this drug due to his stomach not emptying correctly and it is difficult to have to search the web for it all the time.
Amy | Kurtz | OK | US | My son has gastroparesis and takes domperidone three times a day. He has been on domperidine for over 3 years. We feel he could not function as well without the domperidone. Thak goodness it is available from Canada.
Gretchen | Hollingsworth | GA | US | Domperidone is proven to be safer than Reglan in treatment for low milk supply in breastfeeding mothers. Please stop making these women who genuinely want to do what's best for their babies jump through hoops!
Alice | Hempel | TX | US | This works so much better than Reglan - less side effects too
Mary | Rocha, M.D. | TX | US | safe and effective for lactation support

Anonymous | Anonymous | MO | US | I don't understand the FDA! Reglan is approved for nursing mothers, despite being less safe than domperidone for babies and riskier for moms (depression). I took Reglan and developed acute postpartum depression while on it. Now I am taking domperidone that I get from outside the U.S. and my milk supply has improved and the depression has resolved. The FDA needs to get real and be a force for good for GI patients, nursing moms and babies.

Anonymous | Anonymous | AZ | | If the side effects of domperidone are so few, why am I made to suffer with the symptons of gastroparesis?
Frank | Orkin | UT | US | It is rediculous that this drug is not FDA approved for gastroparesis since more risky drugs (reglan) must be used in it's place.
David | May | CA | US | My doctor requested I obtain Domperidone through New Zealand. He said that drug companies do not make any money from it because after 7 years it becomes generic. I have severe gastroparsesis.
shauna | lewis | TX | US |
Sandra | Perry | GA | US | I need this Rx for gastroparesis. I've tried the "approved" drugs, and they aren't doing any good. (My doctor had already warned me that Motilium was the best out there, but that my insurance wouldn't cover it.) So, I'm going to have to find a way to pay for it outside of insurance, and out of the country. I suggest the FDA try the near-daily pain/vomiting and the liquids-only diet (at 29yrs old)! Then the Rx might hold more appeal for them, as well! It's not like Tylenol or Mylanta. There's no alternative waiting on the shelf for those of us who really need this medicine! I don't ask for much--I'd just like to be able to eat actual food again! Even one or two bites a day would be heavenly! And it seems like a medicine that can help meet such a basic, and wholesome, need is much more "safe" than what is happening to me as a result of malnutrition even as we speak!!
Rebecca | Francis | TX | US | There has been no acceptable substitute since Propulsid was pulled from the market. Nothing I can take works. Please review this drug - it's desperately needed.
Scott | Balentine | TN | US | It is unconscionable that in a time when some drugs are rushed to market after scanty testing, drugs like Domperidone can fail to be approved. This medication and many others with a similar history are a testament to the power of big pharmaceutical companies to force their own agendas and line their own pockets. For about four months in 2000 I was prescribed Lotronex. I had extreme abdominal pain and gained 40 pounds during this time. I stopped taking it when the FDA pulled it from the market. When I complained to my doctor about these symptoms, he was unconvinced that Lotronex had anything to do with this problem and said that I could stop taking it if I wanted. It is well past time that medications be approved or denied based on their success or failure in trials, not whether their manufacturer has greased the right palms.

Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | US | Domperidone needs to be allowed in the Usa. I have gp medicines they use to treat it, I have a reaction to. so this is the only one.
