| 822 | Judy | Harrison | IL | US | I cannot take Reglan for gastroparesis due to scleroderma because it crosses the "blood brain barrier", and was therefore started on domperidone (Motilium) in 2003. I get it through a Canadian pharmacy. After having lost 80 lbs in two months because of not being able to retain calories, etc., Motilium turned my life around in less than two weeks. This medication should be approved for use in the U.S. - as it has been used very successfully in Canada and Europe for over 30 years, I've heard. Please work to allow Motilium (domperidone) to be sold in the U.S. Living with gastroparesis is horrible, and those who suffer from it need relief. |

My reflux was (and withoug Motillium IS), so bad that I'm actually Afraid to try to sleep at night as I've been awakened with acid literally erupting up from my throat into my sinuses and out of my mouth. (No, not a 'pretty picture", and certainly Not an "enjoyable experience"), Calcium cupplements do little to stop it, and even though my husband has another job with "okay" insurance, the only thing which has assisted me is the Motillium. This is the second time in ten months that I've ordered it this year, and the first time it was held up in getting to me by an addtional ten days... I last ordered it on July 11th and it was shipped out on July 12th. It is now August 4th, (at 6:05 am!), and I'm writing This to you instead of trying to sleep! That's because whenever I try to lay down, acid "edges" closer and closer to my throat! I've tried a variety, (over the last ten years!), of Every position of sleep, however, eventually, I'll wind up on my back and that's when the acid will hit! Please, please please! Stop making "criminals" out of people who Only want to Be Healthy, and who are seeking medications outside of the US because they're not "consdered" a Viable medication for over the counter use! Especially, when the Independent Research tells you otherwise! At the Very least, don't restrict it's importation by private citizens who only wish to use it for their personal medical needs! |

Domperidone has the least amount of harmful side effects compared to other drugs for this disease. Numerous studies have shown how effective this drug can be and it is ridiculous that the United States is one of the only countires in the world to not carry this drug. |
